Land clearance completed for the access road to Dong Viet Bridge via Chi Linh.

The entire site for the Dong Viet Bridge access road project in Hai Duong province has been cleared and handed over to the construction unit.

On the afternoon of December 30th, representatives from the People's Committee of Chi Linh City announced that the locality had completed land clearance for the entire project of constructing the access road to Dong Viet Bridge connecting to National Highway 37, handing it over to the construction unit to complete the infrastructure, ensuring traffic safety and putting it into operation and use as soon as possible.

Thus, Chi Linh City has completed land clearance for the entire 5.3 km stretch of road within Hai Duong province and the intersection area with National Highway 37, affecting 369 families and individuals, and handed it over to the contractor for construction.

According to the plan, after the site is handed over, the construction unit will pave the remaining sections of the road with asphalt and install traffic safety equipment…

Construction of the Dong Viet Bridge and its approach roads commenced in June 2022 and was completed in May 2024. The Dong Viet Bridge is over 730m long, with a deck width of 22.5m, and is constructed of reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete. The main bridge section consists of two cable-stayed spans.

This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province, spanning the Thuong River and connecting Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces. The project is managed by the Bac Giang Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation and Agricultural Works.

The total investment for the project is nearly 1,500 billion VND.

The approach roads on both sides of the bridge are approximately 7.86 km long, built to the standards of a Class II road in a flat area, with a 22m roadbed and a 21.5m road surface. Bac Giang province constructed the bridge and approach roads on the Bac Giang side.

On the Hai Duong side, the access road to the Dong Viet bridge connecting to National Highway 37 is 5.3 km long, passing through the communes and wards of Hung Dao, Le Loi, and Cong Hoa (Chi Linh); it is a Class II road with a roadbed width of 22.5 m; the design speed is 80 km/hour, and the total investment is over 469.8 billion VND. The project is managed by the Hai Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
