"Overcoming the sun and rain" on the construction site
After the merger, Bac Ninh has a lot of room for development. Taking advantage of this advantage, a series of key national projects have been deployed in the area, expected to create a breakthrough for the province. The Gia Binh International Airport project was started in August 2025, 40 km from the center of Hanoi , with a scale of nearly 2,000 hectares, located in the communes of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, Lam Thao. These days, at the construction site, the working atmosphere is bustling, hundreds of engineers and workers are working hard on the drilling rig. Pile drivers and trucks carrying materials come and go continuously. The leveling area is spread out, every meter of land is compacted and strictly inspected before moving on to the next stages.

According to the investor representative, the unit is committed to focusing all resources so that the project is completed on schedule, with the highest quality, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, State and People. At the same time, it will apply favorable construction solutions to ensure safety. By the end of 2026, Gia Binh International Airport will be put into initial operation to serve the APEC Summit according to the assigned plan.
The completed project will create a traffic axis connecting Hanoi Capital with Bac Ninh Province and Hai Phong City, an important gateway for Bac Ninh to connect with major economic centers in the country and internationally, especially in the context of the province implementing the goal of developing high-tech industry and logistics. At the same time, it will contribute to significantly reducing the load on Noi Bai Airport, improving the air transport capacity for the Northern region; meeting the increasing demand for air transport, affirming the position and stature of the country on the world aviation map.
Similarly, the investment project to build the Hanoi Capital Region Ring Road 4 (section through Bac Ninh province) has a total length of 35.3 km, passing through the wards of Thuan Thanh, Que Vo and Gia Binh commune with a capital arrangement of more than 5.2 trillion VND, invested by Bac Ninh Province Traffic and Agriculture Management Board No. 2. The project consists of 3 packages No. 14, 15, 16. At this time, at the construction site of the 3 packages, there are hundreds of workers and engineers focusing on constructing items: Box culverts, overpasses, underpasses for people, pouring roadbed soil, asphalt paving, etc. The construction packages have reached an average of more than 45% of the workload. Package No. 14 alone has reached 90% of the workload.
Mr. Kim Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Agriculture Management Board No. 2 of Bac Ninh Province, said that to celebrate the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the unit set a target of completing 6.5/10 km of road by the end of September this year, the section connecting National Highway 38 with Provincial Road 276; completing Package No. 14 in December this year, 10 months ahead of schedule. Currently, the project is entering the acceleration phase, the unit directed the contractor to arrange 7 construction teams with 3 shifts/day. At the same time, promoting the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", striving to complete the set goals.
Not only on the national key project, with the determination to open the bridge in December, at the construction site of the new Xuong Giang bridge unit and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, the contractor has accelerated construction even on holidays and at night. This is one of the key traffic projects of the province, which started construction in February this year in Bac Giang ward. Currently, at the construction site, there are often more than 150 workers and engineers focusing on construction to complete the main items such as: Bridge girder burning, dike girder scaffolding system, formwork installation... The bridge is newly built in a unit suitable for the scale of the route, 16.5 m wide; designed with reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete; the road surface includes 3 lanes for motor vehicles. The road section at both ends of the bridge has a roadbed width of 33 m including 4 lanes for motor vehicles. The bridge is expected to be closed in mid-November this year and technically open to traffic on December 19, ahead of schedule. The completed project contributes to reducing traffic congestion on Xuong Giang bridge.
Prioritize resources for multimodal transport
In addition to the above projects, in recent times, the province has mobilized resources to invest in infrastructure development, focusing on traffic infrastructure, opening up new space and development momentum. Many key and strategic traffic projects in the province have been started, built, inaugurated and put into use such as: Nhu Nguyet Bridge (expansion); Ha Bac Bridge 1, 2; Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge; Hoa Son Bridge; Net Bridge; Dong Viet Bridge; Kenh Vang Bridge; roads connecting with Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Lang Son; key traffic intersections and connecting routes in the area... In addition to external connection routes, the province pays special attention to developing traffic in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Thanks to the systematic investment, focusing on breakthrough projects, the province's transport infrastructure system is increasingly complete and synchronous; opening the door for local goods to easily penetrate deep into major domestic and international markets, contributing to improving competitiveness. The proof is that the province's economic indicators for the first 9 months of 2025 are all high, among the leading groups in the country such as: Economic growth ranked 5th in the country, attracting foreign investment ranked 1st in the country... The representative of the leadership of Sunwoda Vietnam Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Van Trung Industrial Park) shared that the enterprise is expanding its factory in Yen Lu Industrial Park. In addition to the favorable investment environment, the enterprise highly appreciates the local synchronous infrastructure. Transporting goods to the airport or seaport is convenient, helping the Company save costs.
Bac Ninh strives to become a centrally-run city before 2030. To achieve this goal, the province has determined to focus on reviewing, adjusting and perfecting the master plan, ensuring inheritance and connectivity in development orientation. At the same time, Bac Ninh will promote links with key growth poles of the country, forming strategic economic corridors to maximize regional potential and advantages.
