Hoang Van: Actively getting rich on the homeland

BAC NINH - With the desire to get rich on their homeland, people of Hoang Van commune (Bac Ninh) are always bold in developing their family economy. Not only creating jobs for themselves and making legitimate wealth for their families, many people also expand production and business, creating jobs for local workers.

Leave the city for the countryside

After graduating from a regular university and finding a suitable job with a desirable income in Hanoi , in 2013, Mr. Duong Hoai Linh and his wife, Ms. Ngo Thi Ly (both born in 1984), Hoang Lien village, Hoang Van commune, decided to return to their hometown. Both to continue developing the family's nursery business and to conveniently take care of their elderly mother.

At first, due to lack of experience, Linh and his wife only maintained the cultivation and sale of fruit tree seedlings as his mother had done before. In 2017, realizing the increased demand for construction trees, the couple decided to switch from fruit trees to the construction tree business.

Along with renting more land from households in the commune, Mr. Linh has cooperated with many households in localities inside and outside the province to expand the area. Currently, on an area of ​​more than 40 hectares of land, he and his wife and associated households maintain the nursery and planting of more than 30 different types of construction trees, creating jobs for nearly 10 local workers. Every year, from his family nursery, Mr. Linh brings to the market nearly 100,000 types of construction trees, mainly Taiwan Banyan, Cassia fistula, Black star apple, etc., earning a profit of more than 1 billion VND/year.

Like Mr. Linh, after more than 10 years working as a garment worker at enterprises in Hanoi, in 2010, Ms. Duong Thi Hoi, also residing in Hoang Lien village, returned to her hometown to start her own business.

Due to lack of capital, when she first started her business, Ms. Hoi only bought 5 industrial sewing machines and opened a sewing workshop at home. With her skills and existing relationships, the orders kept coming in more and more, from the initial 5 sewing machines she increased to 7 and then 20. In September 2019, Ms. Hoi invested in buying 2 sewing lines with 50 machines, establishing Hoang Lien Garment Limited Liability Company with her as director.

The production scale is increasingly expanding, in early 2022, she rented more than 1,000 square meters of land to build a modern factory and bought 50 more machines, changing the company's name to Ha An Fashion Garment Joint Stock Company. Currently, the enterprise creates jobs with an average income of 8 million VND/person/month for 70 local workers. "What I am most happy about is not only the stable economy but also being able to work on my homeland, contributing to improving people's lives, building my homeland more and more beautiful", Ms. Hoi shared.

Exploiting advantages for development

As a purely agricultural commune, in recent years, along with effectively implementing socio-economic development solutions, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hoang Van commune have paid attention to, supported and created favorable conditions for individuals and businesses in the area to invest in production and business development. Up to now, there are more than a dozen businesses operating in the commune, creating regular jobs for more than 2,200 workers.

Along with that, from the business of planting trees for construction projects, the commune has dozens of households earning from 1.5 to 2 billion VND/year. In agricultural production, the whole commune has 15 OCOP products recognized as 3 stars, including many typical local products such as: Banh chung van, black canarium salt, banh gio...

Ms. Ta Thi Quy, Director of Hoang Van Agricultural Cooperative, shared: “Previously, households wrapped Chung cakes mainly to serve weddings in the village and commune, but now the market has expanded. From making Chung cakes, members of the cooperative have jobs and stable income, many households earn 200 - 300 million VND/year.”

Although there have been many changes and achieved many positive results, through assessment, enterprises in the area are mainly small and medium-sized; the linkage in production and consumption of products, the application of scientific and technical advances into production is still limited, especially the application of high technology in agricultural production...

To effectively exploit potentials and strengths, in the period of 2026 - 2030, Hoang Van commune determines to mobilize resources to invest in modern infrastructure, especially traffic and urban infrastructure. At the same time, pay attention to attracting investment, developing commercial systems (supermarkets, shopping centers), accommodation, food and beverage, and entertainment services associated with urban development; focus on supporting agricultural production in the direction of applying mechanization to production to improve crop productivity, thereby increasing production value per unit area...

Comrade Le Ngoc Tien, Head of the Economic Department of Hoang Van Commune said: "Along with attracting investment and creating conditions for individuals and businesses to come to the area to develop production and business, we also build tours to visit the ATK II historical relic as well as the relics in Do hamlet, Van Xuyen village, and ancient canarium gardens in the direction of tourism combined with enjoying local specialties".
