Opening of the third thematic session, the 10th Provincial People's Council

On the morning of November 18, the People's Council of Vinh Long province opened the third thematic session of the 10th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026 to carry out personnel work and consider and decide on a number of urgent issues under its authority to promptly respond to the management, operation and service work of the two-level government apparatus.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

Attending the meeting were comrades Tran Van Lau - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Kim Ngoc Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; together with comrades leading the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and 131/147 delegates of the Provincial People's Council.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council will carry out procedures to dismiss the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, dismiss the duties of the Provincial People's Council delegates of the 10th term for the 2021-2026 term; elect additional positions of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; review and give opinions on 7 submissions of the Provincial People's Committee and pass 7 resolutions.

In order for the session to take place on time, achieving quality, efficiency and requirements for innovation in the activities of the People's Council, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Minh Dung requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to consider the submission of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council to properly implement the provisions of law on the dismissal of the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and the termination of the duties of the Provincial People's Council delegate for comrade Lu Quang Ngoi. At the same time, uphold the spirit of responsibility, closely follow the leadership of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee, and elect an additional position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to achieve the highest results, so that the Provincial People's Committee has all the positions, is capable of governing and creating a fast and sustainable development for Vinh Long province in the coming time.

In addition, focus on giving opinions on the legal basis, procedures, necessity of promulgation, scope of regulation, applicable subjects, and specific content of each draft resolution to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and feasibility of the resolution after promulgation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Minh Dung requested the People's Council delegates to continue to promote the role and responsibility of the People's representatives; promote democracy, actively research, discuss, give impartial and objective comments, make suggestions, contribute many enthusiastic, profound and quality opinions to the documents submitted at this session so that the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council are passed with the highest consensus, contributing to the success of the session, meeting the expectations of voters of the province.
