The opening ceremony of the Ede Long House exhibition space is a meaningful activity to honor, preserve and promote the unique traditional cultural values of the Ede people, contributing to enriching the cultural heritage treasure of Dak Lak province.
The construction of the long house project started in the Dak Lak Museum in December 2020 and was officially completed in January 2023. This is an exemplary architectural work, meticulously restored according to the original model of the traditional long house, using natural materials such as wood, bamboo, reed and grass. The restoration not only recreates the physical architecture, but also preserves the soul of the Ede matriarchal community living space.

On November 17, at the Dak Lak Provincial Museum, the Opening Ceremony of the Traditional Long House Exhibition Space of the Ede People took place.
Based on the careful collection of documents and artifacts, the exhibition space inside the Long House has been completed. The museum has received enthusiastic consultation from artisans, cultural subjects and people knowledgeable about the traditional culture of the Ede people. This cooperation ensures the authenticity and cultural depth of the exhibition space.
Ms. Vo Thi Phuong, Director of Dak Lak Museum, said that the exhibition of Ede Long House is one of the key items mentioned in the Project to improve the quality and innovate the operation of the Provincial Museum. Thereby, it contributes to bringing cultural heritage closer to the public.
When in operation, the Long House will serve the public to visit, learn, study and experience the structure of the living space, daily living items, brocade costumes, farming tools, and especially the gong system associated with the Ede people's worship rituals. From the large guest room ( Gah ), where rituals and communal activities take place, to the private rooms ( Ok ), visitors will have a comprehensive view of the life of the traditional Ede extended family.

The exhibition space of the traditional Long House of the Ede ethnic group will contribute to bringing cultural heritage closer to the public.
After the solemn opening ceremony, the most attractive highlight was the performance reenacting the Housewarming Ceremony (Đĭ dôk sang mrâo). This is one of the important traditional ceremonies, with deep spiritual meaning for the Ede people when moving to a new house, showing respect to the gods and praying for health, peace and prosperity for the whole family.

The restoration not only recreates the physical architecture, but also preserves the soul of the Ede matriarchal community living space.
In the bustling atmosphere of the ceremony, traditional rituals were vividly recreated. Ede artisans in Tan An and Tan Lap wards performed the main rituals such as: worshiping the gods, exchanging bronze bracelets, and wishing good health. In particular, the traditional wine drinking ceremony expressed the warm feelings and cultural beauty of the Ede community. The resounding, solemn gong sounds, combined with traditional dances, created a colorful cultural picture, leaving many deep impressions on delegates and visitors attending.

When in operation, the Long House will serve the public to visit, learn, study and experience the culture of the Ede people.
The inauguration and operation of the Long House Exhibition Space, along with the regular reenactment of unique rituals, not only helps Dak Lak Museum become a red address for heritage education , but also actively contributes to the work of preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values of the Ede people in the modern context.
The Long House exhibition space at Dak Lak Museum will officially open to visitors from November 17, 2025./.
