In Hai Duong, the main route, over 5 km long, has been largely completed. The contractor is currently working on traffic safety systems, painting road markings, planting trees and flowers, etc.
However, the intersection of the access road with National Highway 37 is still facing land acquisition issues involving three households. One family has not yet agreed to the compensation and support plan, and two families are awaiting adjustments to the land acquisition boundary. The People's Committee of Chi Linh City is striving to complete the payment and handover of the land to begin construction by December 2024.
Previously, to facilitate the construction of the access road, Hai Duong province paid over 114.6 billion VND for land clearance to 366 out of 369 households and individuals.

In Bac Giang province, on November 13th, in an interview with a reporter from Hai Duong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tu, the Executive Director of the joint venture for the Dong Viet Bridge and access road project in Bac Giang, stated that the construction unit has completed all the paving work on the Dong Viet bridge surface.
Currently, the consortium of contractors is focusing on constructing items related to traffic safety systems, including road markings, anti-glare systems, expansion joints, and lighting on the bridge.
Out of a total of over 7 km of access road in the northern part of Giang province, the construction unit has paved approximately 4 km with asphalt concrete, and some sections have had base stone laid and excavation and soil stabilization completed. However, 500 meters of the access road are still obstructed by land belonging to local residents, preventing construction from proceeding. At the six-way intersection in Dong Phuc commune, there are still land issues involving nearly 50 households and organizations. Despite being informed and persuaded, these households have not yet accepted compensation and handed over the land.

Currently, there are approximately 60 workers constructing the Dong Viet bridge and the access road on the northern Giang side of the construction site.
According to Mr. Tú, the construction progress of the access road in Bắc Giang depends on the progress of land clearance. Once the land is cleared, the contractor will concentrate manpower and machinery to accelerate construction progress, striving to complete the cleared section of the road by December 31st.
The Dong Viet Bridge and its approach roads were started in June 2022. With a total length of over 811 meters and a bridge deck width of 23.5 meters, this is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province, spanning the Thuong River and connecting Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces. The project is managed by the Bac Giang Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation and Agricultural Projects.
