Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced on Twitter that he will be moving to Miami after 29 years in Seattle. In August, the billionaire spent $68 million on a waterfront mansion in Miami’s Indian Creek neighborhood. Two months later, he spent another $79 million on the mansion next door.
It's not the first time Bezos has spent huge amounts of money on real estate.

Bezos and his ex-wife lived for decades on a nearly 24,000m2 plot of land in Medina, Seattle, Washington.

In 1998, Bezos paid $10 million for a property on the shores of Lake Washington. Twelve years later, he spent another $45 million on the land next door, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.
On this plot, his family lives in a 24,000-square-foot mansion with 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and a list price of 53 million USD. Jeff Bezos' neighbors in the area include Bill Gates as well as many other technology and media entrepreneurs.
Months after their divorce in 2019, Bezos spent $45 million on four properties in another upscale neighborhood of Medina. The most expensive purchase was a $37.5 million purchase in Hunts Point, a neighborhood with fewer than 400 residents.

California's Biggest Real Estate Deal
Bezos also owns many expensive properties in Beverly Hills, California, and Los Angeles.
He made the largest transaction in California real estate history when he bought a mansion for $165 million from billionaire David Geffen. David Geffen bought the mansion in 1990 for $47.5 million. The mansion has a tennis court, swimming pool and a 9-hole golf course.
