Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of Ea Yieng Commune People's Committee, said that, being part of the general flow of traditional culture of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, Xe Dang brocade has its own characteristics and beauty in terms of color and pattern.
Therefore, in recent years, Xe Dang brocade made by artisans of Ea Yieng commune has not only served the people in the region but also been connected and introduced to tourists , becoming unique handicraft products, special gifts for those who love Central Highlands culture.

In early 2025, the Commune People's Committee coordinated with the Center for VocationalEducation - Continuing Education of Krong Pac district to establish the Xe Dang ethnic brocade weaving cooperative group and opened a brocade weaving elementary class. Through the mobilization and propaganda of the Commune People's Committee and the Women's Union, 30 members participated in the elementary class with the desire to preserve and develop the traditional brocade weaving profession of their ancestors, as well as have more jobs and income during the off-season.
As the oldest student in the elementary vocational class, Mrs. Thia (Kon Tay village) carefully watches each thread to create patterns according to the teacher's instructions. Mrs. Thia confided that when she was young, her generation was very familiar with the image of women and mothers working hard on the weaving loom. The brocade not only shows the ingenuity of women but also conveys the feelings of women and mothers for their husbands, children and relatives in the family. However, there was a period when the traditional brocade costumes of the Xe Dang people were rarely used, so the brocade weaving profession also faded away quite a bit.
Mrs. Thia herself, in the past, was busy making a living so she could not learn the brocade weaving technique. Therefore, when the Kon Tay Women's Association encouraged her to join the brocade weaving class, she was very happy. In the early days of getting acquainted with the loom, she was quite confused and bewildered. Sometimes, she made mistakes and had to remove the thread and start over. Gradually, she got used to the tools and her operations became faster. Up to now, she has almost finished weaving 2 brocade pieces according to the course program. These brocade pieces will be sewn into traditional shirts and skirts for herself to wear during the village's festivals or to attend church services. She will also try to learn more techniques, weave many beautiful brocade pieces for relatives and teach them to her daughters and granddaughters in the family.

Ms. H'Yum Byă, a teacher of the elementary brocade weaving class in Ea Yieng commune, shared that the content of the course is mostly hands-on with the goal of helping students grasp the techniques of threading, weaving the base fabric, and basic patterns such as squash seeds, diamond, X, star, etc. After completing the course, the women will be able to join the Brocade Weaving Cooperative and learn more about the traditional weaving techniques of their ethnic group or create and develop more patterns from the basic techniques. These are also the factors that preserve and teach brocade weaving to each village, preserving the traditional beauty of the ethnic communities in the Central Highlands.
