Hung King's Commemoration Day 2024: Bustling palanquin procession to Hung Temple

On April 15, the palanquin procession from communal houses and temples of 7 communes and towns around the Hung Temple historical relic site took place at the Ceremony Center, honoring the merits of the Hung Kings and ancestors who built the country.

On April 15 (ie the 7th day of the 3rd lunar month), at the Hung Temple historical relic site, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, the Organizing Committee of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary 2024 organized a palanquin procession to Hung Temple to pay tribute to the Hung Kings and ancestors who built the country. This is one of the activities to honor the value of the Hung King worship belief in Phu Tho, which was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; at the same time, it reflects the traditional rituals that have been maintained and preserved for thousands of years. At exactly 7:30 a.m. on April 15, the palanquin procession from communal houses and temples of 7 communes and towns on the outskirts of the relic site, including Hung Lo, Kim Duc, Hy Cuong, Chu Hoa communes and Van Phu ward (Viet Tri city), Tien Kien commune, Hung Son town (Lam Thao district) took place at the Ceremony Center, Hung Temple historical relic site. The palanquin procession to Hung Temple recreates the cultural and religious activities of the people of the ancestral land associated with the Ancestor Worship. At the same time, the ritual creates richness and appeal to folk cultural activities on the occasion of the Ancestor's Death Anniversary; arouses pride in national history and cultural traditions toeducate awareness, the spirit of great solidarity and the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source," "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree." The palanquin procession is arranged in the following order: Leading the way is the lion dance team, followed by the procession of the national flag and festival flags, the procession of small god flags; young girls carrying offerings, incense and flowers; the procession of gongs, drums, the group of octopus and Sinh Tien dance, the procession of eight treasures, the procession of umbrellas, the palanquin team, the celebrant and officials... The leaders of the commune, ward and town, the elders wearing traditional costumes and turbans, and the people participate in the palanquin procession. Offerings include incense, flowers, fruits, banh chung, banh giay and local products... In the resounding sound of festival drums, the graceful sound of senh tien music, young men, women, elders and villagers dressed up in ao dai, silk pants, turbans, with joyful and eager faces. People and tourists from all over the world excitedly watched the palanquin procession, creating a bustling, joyful atmosphere, both sacred and very close and everyday, clearly demonstrating the communal nature in the beliefs and palanquin procession of the communes surrounding Hung Temple, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of tourists from all over the world./.
