Genderless singer Tran Tung Anh makes an impression

In a yellow ao dai printed with the image of Trang Tien bridge spanning the poetic Huong River, Tran Tung Anh made the whole audience shiver when showing off his soft, sweet, and clear female voice through the song "Nang Tho Xu Hue ".

Immediately after that, he switched to a deep, powerful male voice and alternated his voice in a subtle, rhythmic, magical way. The genderless singer chose to perform 3 outstanding works in "Nui hat" with 9 songs as a way to "flex" all of his qualities. After "Nang tho xu Hue", he continued to show his rare female voice with "Co gai vot cong" and "Tieng dan ta lu". The two songs associated with famous female singers such as artists Tuong Vi, Anh Tho, Trang Nhung... were once again conquered by Tran Tung Anh, also with a high-pitched, clear female voice like a bell.

In Vietnam, Tung Anh is the first male voice to confidently step onto the stage with a female soprano voice.

Singer Phuc Tiep, Tran Tung Anh's teacher, assessed Tung Anh as a special case with a castrato voice, training such a voice is very difficult and painful. Creating works for these voices is even more difficult, in the past the British royal family did not even allow female singers on stage, people had to train male singers from a young age to impersonate women when performing. In Vietnam, Tung Anh is the first male singer to confidently step onto the stage with a female soprano voice.

"Nui hat" includes 9 MVs: Tieng zither ta lu, Nang tho xu Hue, Ho tren nui, Con duyen, Qua cau gio bay, Chin dac tinh yeu, Tinh ca Tay Bac, Tieng hat giua rung Pac Bo, and Dep mai tinh ta. Tran Tung Anh shared that the 9 songs encapsulate his father's marching steps in the military as well as his parents' emotional journey. This is a special gift the male singer dedicates to his recently deceased father.

Dong Quang Vinh said that the challenges of implementing a music project for a genderless singer created excitement for the production team. He greatly respected Tran Tung Anh and believed that with his talent, the male singer would go further.

Musician Luu Quang Minh, who Tung Anh jokingly calls his "musical lover", said that when he first met Tran Tung Anh, he was impressed by a sincere, very real person, as if he had known him for a long time.

Considered to have the highest female singing ability compared to current male female singers in Vietnam, Tran Tung Anh once surprised the coaches of "The Voice 2017" and gave them many compliments when witnessing his unique performances on stage.

Tran Tung Anh then chose to join singer Thu Minh's team and became known as a rare "phenomenon" in the Vietnamese music industry. He decided to move to the South to find a suitable path to develop his singing career. He participated in music game shows "Tuyet Dinh Song Ca", "Guong Mat Than Quen 2019"... and created a fever with his rare castrato voice.

In 2021, the singer from Bac Giang released his debut MV "Con yêu Thơ đại", a composition by musician Giáng Sol, which was well-received for its rich, emotional, and soaring female voice.
