Flooding is occurring at lane 89 Lac Long Quan; My Dinh - Thien Hien intersection; Le Duc Tho (My Dinh stadium square); Duong Dinh Nghe - Nam Trung Yen (behind Keang Nam building); Vo Chi Cong street (UDIC building); Phu Xa street (Phu Xa - Phuc Hoa intersection); Phan Van Truong street; Hoa Bang (lane 99); Tran Binh street.
In addition, deep flooding also occurred at Thang Long Avenue; Buu - Yen Xa Bridge; Phung Khoang; Trieu Khuc; To Huu (Luong The Vinh - Trung Van); Yen Nghia bus station; Quyet Thang Street; Tay Mo Bridge foot; Tay Mo Street (from the old committee gate to Trien Bridge); Cau Coc Street (from house number 1 to house number 67); Do Nha Street; Ngoc Truc Street; Mieu Nha area; Dong Thang (Ecohome 1); Nhue Giang Street.
Currently, in the To Lich river basin and Long Bien river basin, flooded areas have receded and traffic is back to normal.
Also according to the report, Thang Long Avenue (Sunhouse service road, section in front of Vietnam Military Museum), underpass No. 9 on Thang Long Avenue, National Highway 3 (Go Soi and Thuy Loi streets) are flooded on average over 20cm, making traffic difficult.
Urban areas: Van Quan (end of Nguyen Khuyen street, intersection of Nguyen Son Ha and Bach Thai Buoi) flooded on average 20cm; Tay Ho Tay urban area (flooded on average 15cm); Resco urban area (flooded on average about 25cm); Ciputra urban area (flooded on average 15cm), traffic is difficult.
Opening Thanh Liet dam to drain water from Nhue river
According to the report of the Traffic Works Maintenance Board (Hanoi Department of Construction), as of 7:00 a.m. on October 8, Hanoi still had 21 flooded spots over 10cm, of which 12 were over 30cm, and 9 were flooded from 10cm to 30cm.
To deal with flooding, Hanoi Drainage Company said that it has arranged forces and equipment to be on standby at key locations to handle flooding when it occurs.
At the same time, operate at maximum capacity the key pumping stations on the system including Yen So pumping station (operating 20/20 pumps), Cau Buu pumping station, Dong Bong 1, 2 pumping stations, Co Nhue pumping station, Da Sy pumping station... to lower the water level on the drainage system.
The sluice gates operate according to procedures, ensuring safety. In addition, the Company also opened Thanh Liet dam to support drainage for Nhue river.
