Having lived for nearly 10 years in a cramped, stuffy tin-roofed house, Nguyen Tri Duc (41 years old), a sanitation worker at Kien Giang Urban Development Joint Stock Company (a member of CIC Group), now has a spacious and comfortable home on land given to him by his parents. The new house, approximately 75 square meters , includes a living room, bedroom, and kitchen. It is airy, clean, and was built with a 50 million VND grant from the company's trade union and contributions from relatives.
Having worked as a garbage collector for 14 years, earning around 15 million VND per month, which barely covers living expenses, Mr. Duc has almost no savings. "The company's support is a huge encouragement, helping me feel secure in my work, provide for my family, and continue to stay committed," Mr. Duc said.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, Chairwoman of the CIC Group's grassroots trade union, with over 600 members, the grassroots trade union always closely cooperates with the enterprise to build harmonious labor relations. Through regular dialogues, many beneficial policies have been included in collective labor agreements, such as increasing the critical illness support to 20 million VND/time, supporting family members with 10 million VND, rewarding long-serving employees with savings accounts of 20-40 million VND, and retirement allowances equivalent to two months' salary.
The "Trade Union Shelter" program at CIC Group is implemented regularly, with each house receiving tens of millions of VND in support, helping many union members secure stable housing. In addition, welfare policies such as meal allowances (up to approximately 730,000 VND/person/month), vacations, and high-quality regular health check-ups are maintained with a significant annual budget, contributing to improving the lives of employees. Thanks to this systematic investment in welfare, CIC Group maintains an average income of approximately 14.5 million VND/person/month.
For many years, kidney disease has made life difficult for Ms. Huynh Thi Nhan, a worker at An Giang Samho Co., Ltd. She undergoes dialysis several times a week, her health deteriorating, while her husband has suffered a stroke for seven years, rendering him unable to work. All the burdens fall on her already exhausted shoulders. Their small house is constantly struggling financially, at times seemingly beyond repair. In this most difficult time, the company's labor union has been a timely source of support. At the end of 2025, Ms. Nhan received 23.1 million VND in assistance from donations among union members. Prior to that, the labor union and various departments visited her, providing essential supplies and cash to help her family overcome this critical period.
According to Vo Thanh Nha, Chairman of the Trade Union of An Giang Samho Limited Company, with over 10,000 employees, of whom over 97% are union members, the grassroots trade union has determined that caring for employee welfare is not only about support but also a "strategy to retain human resources." Therefore, the company focuses on building a multi-tiered welfare ecosystem, from improving collective labor agreements to models that directly serve daily life, such as providing tire inflation and repair services, supplying pure ice, and selling essential goods at preferential prices.
During the period 2023-2025, the "Samho Shelter" fund alone provided approximately 300 million VND to union members facing housing difficulties; simultaneously, in coordination with higher-level trade unions, it built 4 "Trade Union Shelters" with a total cost of approximately 220 million VND. In addition, the funding for maintaining daily welfare programs is also stably allocated by the enterprise and the trade union, serving thousands of workers. Furthermore, activities such as visiting and supporting workers who unfortunately suffer from serious illnesses, and providing scholarships for workers' children are regularly maintained with funding of hundreds of millions of VND per year.
In an increasingly competitive labor market, practical welfare policies are becoming a strong bond between businesses and employees. When employees are cared for in terms of housing and daily life, they feel secure in their jobs, are willing to stay with the company long-term, and contribute to its sustainable development.
