Strong border

In September 2025, at Ha Tien International Border Gate, thousands of people and hundreds of vehicles, passenger cars, and containers pass through every day. The border control work of the authorities is carried out strictly, accurately but still quickly, without any congestion. Ms. Giang Kim Sanh, a resident of Ha Tien ward, who regularly travels back and forth to Cambodia to visit relatives and do small business, said: "The border guards enthusiastically guide the procedures, so even though there are many people passing through the border gate, the procedures are done very quickly. People are happy and satisfied."

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tan Duong - Head of the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Guard Station affirmed: "The unit builds a spirit of responsible work, each officer and soldier is solid in their profession, good at foreign languages, ready to support people, tourists and businesses". Along with that, the unit manages more than 14km of land border and 21km of coastline, synchronously deploys border measures, maintains territorial sovereignty , protects the status quo of border lines and landmarks; prevents and effectively handles illegal entry and exit and crimes.

On the border, militia posts are always on duty day and night, contributing to maintaining stability in the area. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu - Squad leader of the militia squad at Ba Ly post, Ha Tien ward shared: "Most of the unit's soldiers are Khmer people, so it is convenient to grasp the area and mobilize the people." The posts operate 24/7, coordinating with the police and border guards to promptly report and handle situations, prevent illegal immigration and smuggling, and ensure security so that people can feel secure in their production.

Peaceful sea and island

At the Pirate Islands in Tien Hai island commune, we followed the military , police, border guards, navy, and militia forces on patrol to grasp the local situation. Senior Lieutenant Tran Van Sang - Captain of Mixed Company 7, Battalion 519, Regiment 893, Provincial Military Command said: "The units regularly coordinate according to Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP of the Government, ensuring national security, social order, crime prevention and control; at the same time participating in search and rescue, disaster prevention and control".

The armed forces on the island are also a reliable support for the people through activities to help people, protect the environment, and take care of social security. Mr. Pham Hong Dung, resident of Hon Tre hamlet, said: "The soldiers, police, and militia not only propagate the law, support students, and give gifts to people, but also promptly rescue ships and boats in storms and help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The people love them very much."

An Giang is a border, sea and island area, with a land border with Cambodia of 147.888km and a coastline of 200km. Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command said: "The Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to comprehensively deploy military and defense work; build a strong, compact, disciplined, elite force; consolidate the potential of the defense area, link the national defense posture with solid people's security".

The provincial political system also promotes propaganda work, raises awareness of civil defense; effectively implements military rear policies, defense diplomacy, maintains political stability and social order, thanks to which An Giang is always steadfast at the front line of the Fatherland, consolidates solidarity, friendship, cooperation and development with other provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
