(Dan Tri) - The garden house in Tu Lien ( Hanoi ) has more than 10 large peach trees, some of which are 4m high, priced from 100 to 150 million VND. Many people have asked to buy them, but Mr. Binh does not want to sell them, only to rent them out.
Near Tet, Mr. Binh's peach shop (Tu Lien, Hanoi) is bustling with customers coming and going to buy peach trees. Of more than 800 Moc Chau peach trees, Mr. Binh has sold 400, and many customers have placed orders for the remaining half. In particular, the large peach trees, priced from 100 to 150 million VND, attract many buyers, but Mr. Binh insists that he only wants to rent them out. Many people have come to ask for the price of Mr. Binh's giant peach tree, but he doesn't want to sell it (Photo: Nguyen Ngoan). While pruning small branches that were broken during transportation, Mr. Binh shared: "This year, the Tet flower market is slower, but my peach trees still have good prices thanks to the beautiful quality of the flowers and reasonable prices. Half of the peach trees sold are regular customers who ordered in advance." Some customers came in luxury cars to ask to buy giant peach trees that are over 4m high, but Mr. Binh only rented them out, not sold them. He explained: "Large trees are very difficult to care for, and can easily die if you don't know the technique. A peach tree like that takes 3 to 5 years to grow, from finding wild peach roots, grafting Japanese peach branches, and caring for them in Moc Chau. Therefore, I only want to rent them out so that the tree has a longer life cycle and better profits. A tree can be rented out for 3-4 years, each year from 60 to 80 million VND, while selling it outright is only about 100-150 million VND, not as profitable." An ancient peach tree must be cared for for 4-5 years before it can be brought to market (Photo: Nguyen Ngoan). Pointing to the biggest peach tree in the garden, Mr. Binh said that last year this tree was rented for 80 million VND, but this year due to economic difficulties, the price has dropped to 60 million VND. Although there are customers asking, the desired price has not been reached. Since the end of November, Mr. Binh has sold 300-400 peach trees, priced from 3 to more than 20 million VND, and rented 4-5 large trees for 50 to 60 million VND. The main tenants are companies, banks, and hotels. "Individual customers and households often buy peach trees close to Tet," he said. Not far from Mr. Binh's shop, Mr. Hoan's peach garden (Tu Lien ward, Tay Ho district, Hanoi) also displays more than 10 ancient peach trees with various types such as white peach, pale peach, red peach. A customer from the bank contacted to buy a large peach tree for 50 million VND, but after being consulted, the customer decided to rent it for 30 million VND. Mr. Hoan said that it took about 4 years of planting and caring for the tree in Moc Chau, cross-breeding different types of flowers to produce a large peach tree. The climate in this area helps the peach blossoms bloom large, with thick petals and long-lasting color. Every month, he goes down to the site to take care of, fertilize and water the trees. From August, the leaves are pruned to focus on growing flowers in preparation for Tet. Mr. Hoan's house has more than a dozen large peach trees for rent during Tet (Photo: Nguyen Ha Nam ). "Large peach trees are usually rented for 20-40 million VND, and sold for 40-100 million VND. Trees worth over 100 million VND only have about 2-3 roots because they require a lot of care," Mr. Hoan shared. Although the market is somewhat quiet this year, peach trees with white flowers, red peach trees and seven-inch peach trees, priced from 3-10 million VND, are still popular with many customers. On Lac Long Quan Street, Mr. Truong - another peach trader - impressed with unique hybrid peach trees, combining seven-inch peach trees, Nhat Tan peach trees and Moc Chau wild peach trees. These trees not only have large flowers, but also a variety of colors, serving the increasing needs of customers. In addition to selling peach blossoms, Mr. Truong also rents out trees for customers to enjoy during Tet (Photo: Nguyen Ha Nam). "This year, there was a lot of rain and floods, so the amount of Nhat Tan peach trees on the market decreased, while customers' demand was higher. I only have about 500 peach trees to sell, and the shop receives 40-50 customers every day," said Mr. Truong. Unique hybrid trees usually take 4-5 years to complete, but because of the high cost of care, he mainly rents them out for 40-70 million VND/tree. All three peach growers have the same opinion: Renting large peach trees not only preserves the value of the tree but also meets the needs of customers who want to enjoy beautiful flowers without worrying about care. With unique trees, carefully grafted, they still advise customers to rent instead of buy, both saving costs and preserving the long-lasting beauty for each Tet season.
