The annual Grammy Awards ceremony is reportedly "going to go as planned" at the Crypto.com Arena on February 2nd (local time).
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, and Tammy Hurt, Chairwoman of the Board, issued a statement this Monday to CNN reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister. According to the statement, the Grammy Awards will not be rescheduled or postponed. However, the purpose of this year's awards will be different from previous years. Both stated that the Grammys "will bring a new purpose" and that the organizing committee has "worked closely with local authorities to ensure public safety and the responsible use of resources in the area."
The new goal of the 2025 Grammy Awards is to raise "more funds to support wildfire relief efforts and to honor the courage and dedication of first responders who risked their lives to protect us."
"In difficult times, music has an unparalleled power to heal, comfort, and unite," the Grammy organizers stated. "The Grammys not only celebrate the art and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the resilient spirit of the great city of Los Angeles."
