Beyoncé is nominated in 11 categories for the 2025 Grammy Awards, holding the record for the most nominations for an artist with 99.
On November 8th (local time), the Recording Academy of America announced the nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards. Among the 11 categories, Beyoncé appeared in three major award categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year with her single. Cowboy Carter , released at the end of March.
This is Beyoncé's highest achievement to date and the fifth time the singer has topped the list. In 2010, she received 10 nominations, marking her first time dominating the awards season. As of 2023, Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, hold the record for the most nominations in various categories with 88, but she is currently the only artist holding this title. Beyoncé is also the artist with the most Grammy wins, with 32 trophies throughout her career, dating back to her time with Destiny's Child and The Carters (with Jay-Z).
Beyoncé, 43, is one of the world's most successful artists with over 100 million records sold globally. Throughout her career, the singer has won numerous accolades, including Grammy Awards, Billboard Awards, MTV Awards, and American Music Awards. Following Beyoncé, singers Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each received seven nominations. Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift came in with six nominations each. Variety reports that Beyoncé isn't the only name standing out at next year's awards, as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter are all considered strong contenders for the top three awards. Swift set a record as the first female singer to receive seven Album of the Year nominations, while Roan and Carpenter are vying for Best New Artist.
Variety It was also noted that the 2025 Grammy Awards will continue to be a competition between female vocalists, as both the Album and Record of the Year categories have six out of eight nominees who are women. In 2024, only one male nominee made it into either of those categories.
In the section Record of the Year , hit song Not Like Us Kendrick Lamar's song is predicted to win due to its high popularity, frequently played at various sporting events throughout the year and at US presidential candidate Kamala Harris's campaign rally in Atlanta in July.
"His music has been everywhere, even in sports arenas and elections, forcing Grammy experts to consider the possibility of a male vocalist winning," Variety written. The last time a male artist won this award was in 2022, when Skill Sonic won with the song Leave The Door Open , in collaboration with Bruno Mars.
This year, the song Now and Then The Beatles' performance attracted attention when it entered the competition. Record of the Year marks the band's return to the Grammys after nearly three decades, since their last win in 1997.
One of the four original members of the band, Paul McCartney, called this "the Beatles' last song." The song was written and recorded by John Lennon in 1970 – 10 years before his death. Producers used artificial intelligence (AI) to restore Lennon's recording and the guitar playing of the late George Starr (recorded in the 1990s) to blend with the instrumental parts of the two surviving members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star.
The 67th Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on February 2, 2025 (local time) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and is expected to last three and a half hours. The judging panel will vote to select the winners from December 12 to January 3, 2025.
