First Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Toan, Political Officer of Company 1, Battalion 1, Gia Dinh Regiment (Ho Chi Minh City Command), has just been awarded the title of "Promising Young Face of the Entire Army in 2024" by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense. One of the key factors contributing to this award is his exemplary spirit, responsibility, dynamism, and creativity in developing models for building a unit that excels in training, maintains strict discipline, and is highly ready for combat.

Working in a key unit with high training intensity and combat readiness, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Toan always proactively discusses and agrees with the unit's Party committee and command on forms and methods of managing and educating soldiers. He always sets a good example in practicing the "four together" with the soldiers (eating together, living together, working together, and sharing together). Thanks to this, Toan always understands the thoughts and concerns of the soldiers, which forms the basis for the unit to organize movements and implement effective models. One of the models that Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Toan and the unit's command have effectively implemented is "Supporting the Training Ground." He proactively coordinates with affiliated units to collect various herbs, boil them in water, chill them, and bring them to the training ground to serve the soldiers during hot days.

In addition, he proactively organized activities to encourage soldiers on the training ground, promptly educating and motivating them to train diligently and excel. The unit always ensured a high level of health among its personnel, strictly adhering to discipline, and achieving 100% good and excellent results in all training subjects and modules annually, with safety measures in place. The company, led by Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Toan as Political Officer , also initiated models such as "Spending one hour each day on physical training and sports"; "Skilled civilian outreach - strengthening the bond between the military and the people"; "Architectural works made from toothpicks - small actions with great significance"; "Recycling waste into decorative items for flower gardens"; "Doing one good deed each day, learning from the examples of Vietnamese youth"...

First Lieutenant Ngo Duy Thang, Company Commander of Company 1, Battalion 1, affirmed that the above models have created an environment that fosters cohesion between officers and soldiers, and among soldiers themselves, overcoming the reluctance of some comrades to participate in training, drills, and activities.

First Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Toan consistently performed his duties and responsibilities well, contributing to building a unit that excels in training, maintains strict discipline, and boasts high combat readiness. He has also constructed many meaningful projects, such as youth flower gardens, youth parks, and numerous training models and teaching aids; winning many high awards in competitions and sports events. Many of his models have been adopted and replicated by the Gia Dinh Regiment. For the past five consecutive years, Comrade Nguyen Cong Toan has received various forms of commendation and awards from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the City Command.
