Hanoi City plans to announce the third exam subject for grade 10 in March 2025.
On February 6, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) said that the Department is urgently researching and drafting a plan to enroll students in the first grades of the 2025-2026 school year, including 10th grade enrollment.
Admission to grade 10 is conducted by exam method, including two subjects: Literature and Math; the third exam subject is expected to be announced in March 2025.
According to Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT on regulations on junior high school and high school admission issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on December 30, 2024, high school admission is organized according to 1 of 3 methods: Admission, entrance exam, and combination of entrance exam and admission.
With the entrance exam method, students take two subjects including Math and Literature; the third subject is chosen by the Department of Education and Training from one of two options.
In which, option 1, the third exam subject is selected from among the subjects that are assessed by scores in the general education program at the secondary level, ensuring that the same third exam subject is not selected for more than 3 consecutive years. Option 2, the third exam is a combination exam of a number of subjects selected from among the subjects that are assessed by scores in the general education program at the secondary level.
The third exam or paper is announced after the end of the first semester but no later than March 31st of each year.
Also on February 6, Ho Chi Minh City announced that the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 6 and 7, 2025, with 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language.
Some localities have announced that the third subject of the 10th grade entrance exam is English, such as: Nghe An, Lam Dong, Binh Duong, Cao Bang, Bac Kan , Lang Son...
