Hanoi successfully met and exceeded 5 targets for the new rural development program.

Statistics from the Hanoi Office for Coordinating the New Rural Development Program show that from 2021 to 2023, the city had 11 more districts recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the new rural development standards (two years ahead of the target of Program 04). To date, all 17 districts and Son Tay town in Hanoi have met the new rural development standards.

After achieving the initial goals, the districts continued to leverage resources from the central government and the city to upgrade the criteria. To date, the city has 5 districts (Thanh Tri, Gia Lam, Hoai Duc, Dong Anh, and Thanh Oai) that have been recognized by the Prime Minister as having met the advanced new rural standards.

Regarding the new rural commune target, since 2021, Hanoi has recognized an additional 14 communes, bringing the total number of communes meeting the new rural commune standard in Hanoi to 382/382 (100%), completing the target of Program 04 for the 2021-2025 period 4 years ahead of schedule.

From 2021 to the present, the city has recognized an additional 200 communes as meeting the advanced new rural standards, bringing the total number of advanced new rural communes to 229 out of 382 (equivalent to 59.9% of the total number of communes) (achieving 146.8% of the target of Program 04 by 2025, which is to have 156 advanced new rural communes).

Regarding the goal of achieving model new rural commune status, from 2021 to the present, the city has recognized an additional 109 communes as meeting the model new rural commune standards, reaching 136.2% of the target set by Program 04 for 2025, which is to have 80 model new rural communes.

Thus, under the decisive direction of the City Party Committee, the Steering Committee of Program 04, and the Hanoi People's Committee, in 2024, 5 targets were achieved and exceeded one year ahead of the Program's objectives set for the end of 2025.

Specifically, the targets are: Districts achieving new rural standards; Districts achieving advanced new rural standards; Communes achieving new rural standards; Communes achieving advanced new rural standards; Communes achieving model new rural standards.
