Hanoi in top 15 most popular tourist cities in the world

Time Out magazine ranked Hanoi - the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam, at number 11 in the list of 15 most popular tourist cities in the world.

British magazine Time Out has just listed Hanoi among the 15 most popular global cities for tourists .

With the title “The cities tourists are leaving and where they are heading instead”, Time Out magazine ranked Hanoi - the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam, at number 11 on this list.

Specifically, the 15 most popular cities for tourists in 2025 include Tokyo (Japan), Rio de Janeiro, (Brazil), Beijing (China); Lucerne (Switzerland), Kuwait (Kuwait), Seville (Spain), Chicago (USA); Belize (Belize), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Tbilisi (Georgia); Hanoi (Vietnam); Nassau (Bahamas); Jakarta, (Indonesia); Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina).

The 15 cities that tourists are "turning away" from in 2025 include Havana (Cuba); Miami (USA); Kingston, (Jamaica), Nadi (Fiji), Gdańsk (Poland), Las Vegas (USA), Apia (Samoa); Stockholm (Sweden); Brussels (Belgium), Berlin (Germany), London (UK), Wellington (New Zealand), Singapore (Singapore), Dubai (United Arab Emirates - UAE); Delhi (India).

Travel insurance company InsureandGo identified the cities that travelers are turning away from and the cities that are most popular with travelers based on an analysis of year-over-year changes in searches for flights, hotels, and itineraries.

The fact that Time Out Magazine of the UK has listed Hanoi among the 15 most popular global cities for tourists has further demonstrated the appeal of Hanoi tourism to international visitors; affirming its position, image and brand as one of the most attractive and unique tourist destinations in the region and the world .

Hanoi has been honored to receive many major and outstanding awards such as "Asia's Leading City Destination" and "World's Best Golf City Destination 2024" by the World Travel Awards; and is among the "100 Most Attractive City Destinations in the World in 2024" by the research site Euromonitor International.

Within the framework of the Traveler's Choice Awards Best of the Best Destinations of the world's leading online travel platform Tripadvisor announced in January 2025, the capital Hanoi was honored in the category of Top 25 most favorite destinations of all time at the 14th position.

In addition, Hanoi was also honored in the category of Top 25 cultural destinations in the world in 2nd place.

In 2025, Hanoi's tourism industry strives to attract over 30 million visitors (an increase of 11.1% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024) with over 7 million international tourists and 23 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourists will reach over VND 130,000 billion, an increase of 26.1% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024./.
