On June 2nd, the Investigation Police Department of Hung Yen province announced that it had issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and indict Tran Quang Duy (born in 2002, residing in Nam Tien village, Vu Tien commune, Hung Yen province) and Vu Minh Hue (born in 2003, residing in Cu Loc village, Tu Ky commune, Hai Phong city ) for the crime of "Infringing industrial property rights".
Two fashion store owners have been prosecuted.
Previously, on May 21st, the Economic Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police, in coordination with Market Management Team No. 9 of the Hung Yen Provincial Market Management Department, conducted an inspection of Duy Bi Luxury store in Phuc Khanh residential area, Vu Phuc ward, Hung Yen province, owned by Tran Quang Duy and Vu Minh Hue.
During the inspection, authorities discovered and seized 4,800 sets of clothing bearing the Adidas brand, 290 sets of clothing bearing the Nike brand, 400 sets of clothing bearing the Dolce & Gabbana brand, 265 shirts bearing the Lacoste brand, along with many other products of unknown origin.
At the Police Investigation Agency, Duy and Hue confessed that all the clothes bearing the labels of Adidas, Nike, Lacoste, and Dolce & Gabbana were manufactured by garment factories they commissioned to sell on the social media platform TikTok and in stores, at prices ranging from 180,000 to 230,000 VND per item.
Evidence seized in the case.
The investigation determined that all clothing bearing the labels and tags of the aforementioned brands were not genuine products and were not authorized for production or distribution in the Vietnamese market by the respective brand owners.
Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Hung Yen province is continuing to expand the investigation and clarify the roles of all involved individuals.
