The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) and FPT Corporation have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in digital transformation and green transformation in the retail sector, applying advanced technology solutions to help improve customer experience and promote sustainable development.
The partnership comes as Vietnam's retail market is expected to reach $200 billion by 2025, with spending on digital transformation increasing by an average of 30% per year from 2024 to 2027, according to a report by IDC.
In particular, Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science , technology, innovation and national digital transformation emphasizes the role of technology in improving productivity, connecting supply chains and improving service quality.

On the part of Saigon Co.op, the cooperation is expected to make the unit a pioneer distributor applying the most modern technology in Vietnam, improving competitiveness and meeting the increasing demands of the market.
Saigon Co.op is accelerating the digital transformation process, applying breakthrough technology to optimize operations, enhance customer experience, and meet the orientation of Resolution 57.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, believes that with FPT's cooperation with strategic technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT and Cloud, Saigon Co.op will not only improve customer experience, optimize operations but also affirm its leading position in the retail industry.
Based on the cooperation, Saigon Co.op and FPT will utilize technological potential and management experience to coordinate the development, research and approval of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, focusing on three main areas: financial and accounting management, digitalizing internal processes and managing small chain stores.
At the same time, the two sides will jointly develop innovative business models, contributing to realizing the goal of "Make in Vietnam" in the retail industry.
