According to the results just announced by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in 2024, Hai Duong ranked 13th in the country in terms of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) with 26.34 points, up 12 places compared to 2023 and up 4 points.
The province has 4/4 indexes increasing in score. Specifically, the index of ensuring compliance with minimum environmental standards increased by 1.73 points; the index of the leadership role of the provincial government in environmental protection increased by 1.16 points, the index of preferential policies and business support services in environmental protection increased by 0.88 points, and the index of environmental pollution reduction increased by 0.22 points.
In the 2024 PGI rankings, Hai Phong leads the country, followed by Vinh Long. The provinces of Ha Nam, Bac Ninh and Binh Duong hold positions 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

The PGI 2024 report was built from survey data of 8,566 domestic and 1,554 foreign enterprises investing in Vietnam.
This is the second year that VCCI has published the PGI to evaluate and rank environmentally friendly localities based on business practices, the level of application of environmentally friendly technology by enterprises; the level of management and environmental behavior of enterprises; the level of interest and willingness to invest in environmental issues of local authorities and many other important environmental issues.
