Breakthrough in intra-provincial linkages
With the goal of becoming a modern industrial province and the industrial center of the Red River Delta region by 2030, Hai Duong has planned inter-district spatial areas to exploit and maximize the potential and strengths of each locality.
Recognizing transportation as a crucial element, the "lifeline" connecting various regions, Hai Duong province has invested heavily in transportation projects in recent years. Many projects have been completed, are underway, and are continuing to be implemented along four key transportation arteries, playing a vital role in connecting different areas within the province.
These four new inter-regional transport axes, comprising 13 projects with a total investment of approximately 9,330 billion VND, will serve as a springboard for the province's socio -economic development. The axes include: the Vu Cong Dan road (Hai Duong City) to Ke Sat town (Binh Giang district), connecting to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway interchange at Provincial Road 392; the multi-level interchange with National Highway 5 in Kim Xuyen commune (Kim Thanh district), located on the axis connecting Hai Duong province and Hai Phong City; National Highway 5 in the Lai Vu bridge area to Thanh Ha town, via Hop Thanh bridge to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway interchange; and National Highway 5 connecting National Highway 18 from Hai Duong City, via Han bridge in Nam Sach district to Tan An bridge in Chi Linh City.
Besides the four inter-regional transportation arteries that are being urgently invested in and constructed, localities in Hai Duong are also simultaneously implementing many transportation projects to link with the main arteries.
Strengthening connections with other provinces.

In addition to efforts to create linkages between regions within the province, Hai Duong actively connects and cooperates with neighboring provinces and cities to leverage its competitive advantages. The province's role is clearly demonstrated in connecting the eastern expressway axis and linking and developing the Red River Delta region.
The eastern expressway axis connection ( Hanoi - Hai Phong - Mong Cai expressway) was implemented from July 2022 based on an agreement between the four provinces and cities of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong, and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Hai Duong has made significant contributions and actively participated in trade, business, industrial park, and green economic development forums related to this expressway axis connection.
Transportation projects linking with Quang Ninh, Hung Yen provinces and Hai Phong city will serve as a bridge to facilitate easier cooperation and investment between localities. Hai Duong and other localities along the eastern expressway axis are actively implementing transportation projects, with a focus on river crossing bridges. These include the Hai Hung bridge over the Chanh River connecting Hai Duong with Hung Yen; and bridges over the Han Mau and Kinh Thuy rivers connecting Hai Duong with Hai Phong city. In addition to transportation projects linking localities along the eastern expressway axis, the province is also implementing projects connecting with the Kenh Vang bridge (Bac Ninh) and the Dong Viet bridge (Bac Giang) to expand regional connectivity in multiple directions.
Mr. Bui Xuan Loc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kinh Mon town, said that in 2021, the Trieu Bridge and Dinh Bridge crossing the Kinh Thuy River, connecting the town with Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city, opened up many development opportunities for the locality. Convenient trade created a great advantage in attracting investment. Regional linkages contributed to boosting the town's economic growth to double digits. In the future, following the province's direction, Kinh Mon will continue to cooperate in implementing several inter-regional transportation projects.

Located within the national economic development zone - the Red River Delta region, Hai Duong is gradually asserting its important position, creating connectivity throughout the entire region.
By joining the Red River Delta Regional Coordination Council, Hai Duong will have many advantages in mobilizing resources and leading investment together with other provinces and cities in the region. This is also an opportunity for the province to soon realize its socio-economic development goals according to the established orientation.
In addition to connecting to serve economic development, Hai Duong has also made its mark in closely linking culture and tourism in recent years by coordinating with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to build dossiers and propose the recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex as a world heritage site.
