Hai Phong is about to start a series of key projects reaching regional scale.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Hai Phong will launch a series of strategic projects, creating new momentum for the socio-economic development of the city and the region.

The project connecting Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge has fully prepared construction equipment and vehicles.

Many important projects

On the occasion of National Day this year, Hai Phong simultaneously started 6 important projects, contributing to synchronizing traffic infrastructure, developing socio -economy and changing the face of the city.

The T2 Passenger Terminal Project of Cat Bi International Airport in Hai An Ward is one of the strategic projects invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV). The project has a total investment of more than VND 2,680 billion, with the goal of increasing the service capacity to 5 million passengers/year, meeting the increasing travel needs of passengers, promoting tourism and international trade.

The project to build a resettlement area for the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway project in Duong Kinh area, invested by the Hai Phong Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, to serve the relocation and ensure the stability of people's lives when implementing the national key project, will also be started on this occasion. The project covers more than 7.4 hectares of land in Duong Kinh ward with a total investment of nearly 284 billion VND.

Along with the above 2 projects, in the western area of the city, there will be 4 projects invested by the West Hai Phong Construction Investment Project Management Board that will be started on this occasion, including 3 traffic infrastructure projects.

Perspective of Passenger Terminal T2 Project at Cat Bi International Airport

This is the project to build a bypass of National Highway 37, the section connecting Thong Nhat Bridge of National Highway 37 with Ring Road I in Thach Khoi Ward and 2 communes: Gia Loc, Gia Phuc. The route is more than 5.4 km long with a total investment of about 612 billion VND. This project helps reduce the load on National Highway 37, connecting traffic between regions.

The project to build a road connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge in Kinh Mon Ward and Nguyen Dai Nang Ward is over 3 km long with a total investment of 248 billion VND. This route will create a new traffic axis, connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge, contributing to the completion of the regional traffic network and promoting local economic development. To date, the site clearance work has been basically completed and handed over to the contractor.

The project to build a bridge over the Thai Binh River and an access road on the first ring road has a total investment of more than 1,228 billion VND. The project includes a bridge over 663 m long and an access road nearly 2.5 km long. The Thai Binh River bridge will be an important part of the first ring road, connecting key economic areas of the city.

In addition, the project to build a Martyrs' Temple and a cultural park in Tan Hung ward with a total investment of 200 billion VND, on an area of about 2.5 hectares, was also started on this occasion. This is a project with profound historical, cultural and spiritual significance, creating a solemn memorial space, and at the same time a place for cultural activities of the people.

Ready for commencement

To ensure that the projects start on time for the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, preparations are being carried out urgently, carefully and resolutely. From direction and management to site clearance, contractor selection, material preparation, etc., all stages are closely coordinated by the relevant authorities and investors.

According to the Department of Construction, so far, projects scheduled to start construction during this time have basically met the necessary conditions, including construction sites, permits, technical designs and construction contracts. Local authorities have actively stepped in to speed up the progress of site clearance for projects.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the West Hai Phong Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the Steering Committee and specialized departments closely coordinated with local authorities in site clearance. The Project Management Board also coordinated with relevant agencies to develop scenarios and plans to ensure absolute safety during the groundbreaking ceremony.

On the contractor side, Mr. Pham Van Dong, Deputy Director of KTD Sustainable Development Joint Stock Company, representative of the contractor constructing the traffic project connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge, said: The unit prepared dozens of machines of all kinds with more than 30 workers, divided into 3 construction teams to prepare for the project's commencement. The contractor also signed contracts with construction material suppliers, ensuring adequate and timely supply of materials for construction. "We will focus on accelerating the progress, shortening the construction time, striving to complete the project by the end of 2025, earlier than the expected plan," Mr. Pham Van Dong added.

The simultaneous commencement of many projects is an important political event of Hai Phong on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, demonstrating the determination to rise up, be proactive and cooperate in developing socio-economic infrastructure. This is also a testament to the efforts of the entire political system and the spirit of solidarity and unanimity of the city and the whole country entering a new era.
