
On the afternoon of August 25, comrade Le Trung Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board met and had a dialogue with Korean enterprises in Hai Phong.
Also attending were leaders of infrastructure investment companies of Trang Due industrial park and DEEP C industrial park complex.
Speaking at the meeting, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien sincerely thanked Korean enterprises for their contributions to the development of Hai Phong city in recent times.
Comrade Le Trung Kien informed that currently the total foreign direct investment (FDI) capital from Korea to Vietnam is about 92 billion USD, in Hai Phong alone about 16 billion USD.

He emphasized that after the merger, Hai Phong city has an area of nearly 3,200 km2 , a population of nearly 4.7 million people, with great potential and room for development. Recently, the city was issued Resolution 226 by the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city, with many outstanding mechanisms and policies. These include the establishment of a Free Trade Zone; more decentralization to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, increasing initiative, reducing time and procedures for businesses.
The city is also focusing on developing the Southern Coastal Economic Zone; proposing to establish the Northern Economic Zone and Specialized Economic Zone; establishing many new industrial zones...
The Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board hopes that Korean enterprises will continue to participate in more investment activities in Hai Phong, calling for more enterprises to invest in the city. Hai Phong will always pay attention and create the most favorable conditions for Korean enterprises, one of the city's leading important partners.

In the coming time, the city will expand Korean language learning; increase investment in completing the urban transport infrastructure system; develop healthcare, education, and utilities; ensure security and order, and create the most favorable and open investment and business environment so that Korean enterprises can invest with peace of mind.
The Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board believes that with the active and effective contributions of Korean enterprises, Hai Phong will continue to develop rapidly, entering a new era of development with the whole country.
For proposals and recommendations from enterprises, the Head of the Economic Zone Management Board will direct the resolution according to his authority; coordinate and propose to the sectors and the city if beyond his authority, with the consistent viewpoint: The success of enterprises is the success of the city.

Representatives of Korean enterprises expressed their deep gratitude to the city leaders, the Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and the sectors and levels for always supporting and creating the most favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to invest successfully and effectively in Hai Phong, contributing to the development of the city. At the same time, they affirmed that they will always accompany, continue to research and expand the scale of investment in Hai Phong.
Business representatives said they were very happy and excited that Hai Phong city after the merger really has many opportunities and development potential, and is of great interest to Korean businesses.
