Practical and meaningful gifts
At 7am on a day at the end of August, Ninh Tay Primary and Secondary School ( Tay Ninh Hoa Commune) was bustling again after the quiet summer vacation. Hundreds of students gathered to enjoy playing and receive gifts including books, notebooks, school supplies and cash donated by the Vo Uu Charity Club. Holding her notebook in hand, Cao My Ngoc (in Xom Moi Hamlet, Tay Ninh Hoa Commune), a 5th grader at Ninh Tay Primary and Secondary School, happily shared: “The new school year is approaching, but because my family is in such difficult circumstances, my parents have not yet bought me new books, notebooks and school supplies. Today, when the Vo Uu Charity Club members came to organize fun games and gave me notebooks, school supplies and 200,000 VND in cash, I was very happy and grateful for their generosity. These meaningful and practical gifts are the motivation for me to continue going to school.” It is known that Ngoc's family situation is quite difficult, her parents work as hired farm laborers, their jobs are irregular so their income is only enough to cover living expenses for the whole family of 5. Also because of the difficult family situation, Ngoc's older brother had to drop out of school when he was in 8th grade to work as a hired duck herder to earn money to help the family.

The basketball throwing game booth always attracted many students to show off their talents. After successfully throwing the ball and receiving the voucher, Hac Y Hoang happily took the voucher to exchange for rulers, colors, pencils, compasses, erasers and candy. With a bright smile, Hac Y Hoang said: “There is no playground in my village. During summer vacation, we just play around the village. Today, I am very happy to have the brothers and sisters in the Vo Uu Charity Club organize games to receive gifts. We also got free haircuts from the brothers and sisters.” On this occasion, the Club also arranged booths selling clothes, shirts and even stuffed animals for free for the people of Tay Ninh Hoa commune.
