After more than two years of construction, the project has now completed the access road in the Dinh Cong area and is focusing on constructing the tunnel in the middle of the intersection and the access road in the Kim Dong street area.

The intersection of Giai Phong and Kim Dong streets, specifically the Kim Dong street area, is currently fenced off for the construction of enclosed tunnels, open tunnels, and access ramps.

The access road in the Dinh Cong area has been largely completed.

In the middle of what used to be Kim Dong Street, there is now an open tunnel dug nearly ten meters deep.

Although it is a key project for the city, the inter-agency committee of the Police and Transport Departments agreed and required the investor and contractor to implement the project according to the plan: Construction must proceed while ensuring traffic flow on the road.

Recently, the project completed one side of the tunnel at the intersection and removed the barriers to widen the road, allowing for smoother traffic flow during the year-end period.

Speaking with a reporter from Tien Phong newspaper, a representative of the investor, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the Ring Road 2.5 underpass project has reached approximately 60% completion. Currently, the project no longer faces any major difficulties regarding land acquisition and is focusing on constructing the underground sections.

Recently, the project completed the construction of the main tunnel sections H3B, H4B... located on Giai Phong Street in the direction from the inner city to Ngoc Hoi. The project will soon proceed with the construction of tunnel sections H2B to H5B located on Giai Phong Street in the direction from Ngoc Hoi to the inner city.

"When constructing the tunnel sections on this side of the road, the project requires erecting barriers, occupying the entire road width on the Ngoc Hoi - inner city direction. However, due to the high volume of traffic at the end of the year, to avoid disrupting people's travel, the road barriers here will not be erected until the peak travel period of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake)," a representative from the Traffic Department stated.

The tunnel project has a total investment of 778 billion VND. The investor stated that the project is scheduled for completion in 2025 and that this timeline is being met.
