With four goals against the La Liga representative, PSG reached the milestone of 105 goals in all competitions in 2025. The reigning Champions League champions possess the best attack among the top five European leagues currently. The team behind PSG is Barcelona (102 goals).
Coach Luis Enrique's team is currently on a six-match winning streak, including two games that secured them two trophies. PSG's recent victories came against Arsenal, Montpellier, Auxerre, Reims, Inter Milan, and most recently, Atletico. The wins against Reims and Inter helped PSG win the French Cup and the Champions League, respectively.
Coach Enrique also secured his 10th victory in his encounters with Diego Simeone as a coach. Only one coach has suffered more defeats against the PSG coach than Simeone, and that is Ernesto Valverde (11 times).
PSG maintained their fast-paced and direct attacking style against Atletico, similar to their approach against Inter Milan. Despite the absence of their main striker Ousmane Dembele, the Ligue 1 club repeatedly found the back of the net thanks to the brilliance of midfielders like Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG is no longer the flashy but fragile team of previous seasons. They are now a well-organized, fast-paced machine that knows how to finish off opponents when the opportunity arises.
Currently, PSG are temporarily leading Group B of the Club World Cup. On June 20th, Enrique's team will play their next match against Botafogo of Brazil.
