Former OpenAI president Greg Brockman, who announced he was leaving OpenAI following Altman's dismissal on Friday, is expected to join the project.

Many Openai executives are resigning and will team up with CEO Altman to start a new company (Figure 1).

Several researchers at OpenAI, including Szymon Sidor, have also left the company due to the CEO change, but it's unclear whether Sidor and others will join Altman's new alliance.

Altman and former Apple design chief Jony Ive reportedly discussed building a new artificial intelligence (AI) hardware device, according to Information in September. At the time, it was also reported that SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son would be involved.

As is known, the board of directors of OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, unexpectedly fired Altman on Friday. Co-founder Brockman also resigned immediately after Altman's dismissal.

Backed by billions of dollars from Microsoft, OpenAI kicked off the AI innovation craze last November with the release of ChatGPT, an application that has become one of the fastest-growing software applications in the world .

Altman is an entrepreneur and investor. He has been a prominent figure representing OpenAI in particular and AI technology in general over the past year, consistently appearing in the press and at leading technology events.

Therefore, many believe that the sudden dismissal of CEO Altman when OpenAI was at its peak and had further growth potential was a betrayal.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt even called Altman a "hero," saying, "He built a company from nothing to a $90 billion valuation and has changed our world forever. I can't wait to see what he does next."
