OpenAI launches GPT-5.2 to compete with Gemini.
OpenAI officially announced GPT-5.2, the latest version of its artificial intelligence model family, after CEO Sam Altman initiated a "code red" status to accelerate development in response to competition from Google Gemini 3.
According to the announcement, GPT-5.2 brings improvements in general intelligence, programming capabilities, and long-term context handling. The new model is expected to create more economic value for users, thanks to its ability to support spreadsheet creation, presentation building, and handling complex multi-step projects.
Notably, Disney announced a $1 billion investment in OpenAI and allowed the startup to use characters from Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel in its Sora AI video creation tool.
OpenAI has confirmed that it will continue to maintain GPT-5.1, GPT-5, and GPT-4.1 versions on its API. Meanwhile, GPT-5.2 will be implemented directly within ChatGPT with three plans: Instant, Thinking, and Pro, starting with the paid plans.
Google tests AI Disco browser with GenTabs
Google has just introduced Disco, a new experimental browser developed by the Chrome team. Disco's unique feature is GenTabs, which allows users to enter a request and instantly receive multiple related tabs along with a small, automatically generated web application.
For example, when a user wants to plan a trip to Japan, Disco not only opens reference websites but also creates a planning app with maps, itineraries, and resource links. GenTabs is built on the capabilities of Gemini 3, Google's new AI model, which can create interactive interfaces instead of just returning text or images.

Disco also encourages users to open additional tabs to gather more information, allowing GenTabs to update and refine the application based on the new data. This creates a collaborative loop between the user, web tabs, and AI, rather than relying solely on the chatbot.
Beyond travel, Disco can also assist in many other situations, such as explaining medical knowledge, planning a move, or creating cost calculation tools. However, Google still considers this a test in Search Labs, and it's not yet determined whether Disco will become an official product or just an add-on feature for Chrome or other applications.
