Garmin is partnering with the Vietnamese athletics team at the 33rd SEA Games.

Garmin Vietnam announced that it has become the smartwatch sponsor for the Vietnamese Athletics team heading towards the 2025 SEA Games in the long-distance, middle-distance, and 20km race walking events.

The two high-performance GPS watches, Garmin Forerunner 570 and Garmin Forerunner 970, with their in-depth measurement and training data analysis capabilities, will accompany the team throughout the entire preparation and competition period.

Simultaneously, Garmin continues to strongly develop its community ecosystem, including Garmin Run Club, Garmin Cycling Club, and Garmin Trail, contributing to promoting a scientific approach to exercise and a healthy lifestyle that is also environmentally responsible.

This collaboration marks a significant step in Garmin's journey of supporting high-performance sports in Vietnam. Especially in modern training, with a strong shift towards data-driven training models, Garmin's core metrics become the foundation for coaching staff to gain a deeper understanding of each athlete's actual physical condition: from load capacity and recovery ability to peak performance.

Ivan Lai, Country Director of Garmin Vietnam, shared: “Partnering with the National Athletics Team is an extension of Garmin’s long-term strategy to promote the development of Vietnamese sports based on data science. We believe that when decisions are based on scientific data, athletes will not only train more effectively, but also be safer and more confident when competing in the 2025 SEA Games.”

Alongside its support for the national team, 2025 continues to witness the strong growth of sports communities organized by Garmin. The Garmin Run Club has increased from 12,700 to 15,100 members in 2025, with approximately 30% new members, reflecting the significant expansion of the running movement in Vietnam.

One of the most anticipated events this year is the launch of Garmin Trail on November 16, 2025. This is not only a playground for trail running enthusiasts, but also a commitment to a green and sustainable lifestyle.

Simultaneously, the Garmin Cycling Club (GCC) has also made its mark with in-depth cycling experiences alongside reputable teams such as DTR and 152CC. Journeys like the Can Gio Loop have attracted strong interest from the community.

Through a diverse range of activities for the Vietnamese sports community, Garmin once again affirms its role as a reliable companion. Garmin not only provides technological equipment but also contributes to shaping a scientific training mindset and inspiring healthy and responsible living for Vietnamese users.
