The project has a total investment of 3,250 billion VND and is invested by Khanh Hoa New City Joint Stock Company.
The project received approval from the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province for the adjustment of investment policy and investor approval in Decision No. 2041 (3rd adjustment, dated November 13, 2025).
According to the approval, the Khanh Hoa Waste-to-Energy Plant has a processing capacity of 1,300 tons/day of municipal solid waste (fresh waste passing through the weighing station) and 250 tons/day of ordinary industrial solid waste; combined with a power generation capacity of 26 MW. The project will be implemented on an area of approximately 10.87 hectares in Suoi Dau commune.
The project involves the comprehensive investment in technical infrastructure; utilizing a Martin mechanical grate furnace (Germany) to incinerate municipal and general industrial solid waste. The heat generated is recovered through a boiler system to produce steam for turbines to generate electricity. Exhaust gases are treated through various stages, meeting all applicable standards. Trial operation of the plant is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.
According to the records, the environmental safety distance from the factory boundary is 240m as stipulated. Within this area, there are no residential areas; the nearest residential area is outside the environmental safety distance, ranging from 600m to over 3km depending on the direction.
The 110 kV power line is routed within a 15-meter safety corridor, with no houses or structures within the corridor. The raw water supply pipeline is buried underground, not affecting residential areas. The entire project conforms to the province's waste treatment area plan.
