
In the final of the men's 67kg weight class at the 33rd SEA Games, Khuất Hải Nam faced Chanchang, a fighter from the host country, Thailand.


The Vietnamese fighter entered the match with confidence, quickly taking a 2-0 lead and maintaining his dominance with sharp attacks, scoring points consecutively to increase the lead to 5-0, creating a significant advantage right from the start of the match.

Having established a solid advantage, Khuat Hai Nam continued to maintain the initiative, controlling the pace of the game well and not giving his opponent any opportunity to close the score gap.

Despite pressure from the home crowd and the relentless pursuit of his opponent Chanchang (Thailand), the Vietnamese fighter remained calm and composed, maintaining a favorable position in the match.

Thailand's opponents tried to attack in an attempt to narrow the score gap, but the lead established from the start of the match was too large and not easy to close.

Khuat Hai Nam closed out the final match with a convincing 6-1 victory, bringing home a precious gold medal for Vietnamese sports .


This is also the 18th gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 2025 SEA Games, further adding to the impressive achievements of the day.

Vietnamese fans in the stands cheered and congratulated Khuất Hải Nam, creating a lively atmosphere after his convincing victory.
"I am very happy and proud to win the gold medal in my first SEA Games appearance. Before the match, I always believed in my abilities. The opponent being a Thai fighter wasn't a big problem; the most important thing was my spirit. As long as my country is in my heart, I can fight anyone in the ring," Khuất Hải Nam shared after winning the gold medal.

The Vietnamese fighter added: "In the final against the Thai fighter, I was initially a little worried about the refereeing, but in the end, the referees worked very fairly and accurately, which helped me feel more at ease during the competition."
"Before my departure, I was really worried and nervous, but now I'm very happy that I've achieved my goal. I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers and experts who have always been by my side, supporting me and making me feel that all difficulties can be overcome."

Also this afternoon, in the men's 55kg kumite final, Chu Van Duc lost to Malaysian fighter Kaliana Thevendran 0-4 and received the silver medal. Meanwhile, in the women's 55kg event, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly also lost to Singaporean fighter Hafezan.
