Incident involving forcing students to stop classes to clean up trash: Vice principal reprimanded.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Authorities are demanding an investigation and clarification of the responsibility of the Deputy Principal of An Thanh Secondary School (Van Duc commune, Gia Lai province) regarding his request for teachers to stop teaching so that students could clean up trash.

On December 12th, the leaders of Van Duc commune People's Committee ( Gia Lai province) announced that they had instructed An Thanh Secondary School to conduct a review and clarify the responsibility of Mr. Pham Minh Trung, the Deputy Principal, regarding his request for teachers to stop teaching so that students could clean up trash.

"Following the inspection team's conclusions, the People's Committee of the commune instructed the school's leadership to review and clarify the responsibilities of the deputy principal for the related violations," this person said.

As Dan Tri newspaper reported, at approximately 1:50 PM on October 2nd, while students in classes 8A3 and 9A1 were attending their first lesson, Mr. Pham Minh Trung entered the classroom and demanded that the teacher stop the lesson so that the students could go outside to clean up.

Mr. Trung's reason was that the areas where the two classes were supposed to be doing their morning cleaning still had trash and leaves and needed sweeping. He requested that the teachers of the two classes make up the lessons during the 5th period on the morning of October 6th, arguing that the school has the right to adjust the teaching schedule when teachers and students do not yet meet the conditions to be in class.

Parents also reported that while students in class 6A1 were studying natural science taught by Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Mr. Trung entered the classroom to check the lesson plan and teaching equipment. Upon discovering a lack of teaching equipment, Mr. Trung loudly shouted and demanded that Ms. Hanh stop the lesson and go to the office.

Regarding the incident, on October 27th, an inspection team led by Mr. Ho Gia Dinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Duc commune, worked with the school board of An Thanh Secondary School to record feedback related to school management.
