According to initial information, on the afternoon of August 13, Mr. Manh went to Bong area, the farthest tourist spot from the Garden gate, about 20km away, and went sightseeing alone. Here, Mr. Manh rented a room and stayed overnight. On the morning of August 14, Mr. Manh went sightseeing alone along the Cho Chi tree route, the main sightseeing route in this area. On the sightseeing route, Mr. Manh left his backpack at the entrance of Son Cung cave.
At around 3pm on August 14, Mr. Manh's backpack was discovered by a foreign tour guide while visiting Son Cung Cave. After a while of searching for the backpack's owner without success, the tour guide went down to report to the Bong area ranger station staff. Immediately afterwards, the Park's forces organized a search for the lost person.
A representative of Cuc Phuong National Park said that the Park has arranged 5-7 groups of officers and employees with hundreds of people, divided into many groups to search for the lost person. The search has been organized since the afternoon of August 14 and has yet to yield results. Mr. Manh's family has come to the Park to look for their loved one. The Cuc Phuong Commune Police force has sent many officers and soldiers to coordinate with the Park in the search.
The search for the lost tourists is being actively carried out, however, the search process is facing difficulties because there has been heavy rain in recent days and there is no communication signal in this area.
