(QBĐT) - In modern life, preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage (CH) is an important task to maintain identity and connect generations. The efforts of organizations and localities, the dedication of experienced artisans and the enthusiastic voices of the young generation are creating a colorful picture of the journey of preserving and developing CH in today's society. It is a journey to connect the past with the present, expanding the vision to the future.
Preserve and promote cultural heritage values
With many practical activities, the provincial Association of Cultural Heritage at all levels and members are enthusiastically implementing and contributing to the preservation and promotion of the extremely diverse, unique and rich cultural heritage values of tangible and intangible heritage in the homeland of "Hai Gioi".
“For all levels of the Association and members of the Cultural Heritage Association, good deeds, creative models, and innovative methods in the spirit of volunteerism, autonomy, and joining hands for the purpose of preserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage are a source of pride. Cultural heritage not only enriches the spiritual life of each individual and society, but is also a valuable resource for developing the tourism industry in a sustainable direction,” affirmed Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association of the province Le Hung Phi.
In particular, the association's consistent mission is to always propagate and mobilize the community and the whole society to join hands in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritages. The association has directed the associations and grassroots branches to collect, compile and publish nearly 30 cultural publications preserving many valuable documents, vividly reflecting the picture of cultural heritages of each countryside, people, rich in identity and revolutionary tradition, such as: 10 volumes of "Tuyen Hoa, homeland-people", 5 volumes of "Dong Hoi-heritage and scenic spots", 8 volumes of "Bo Trach-heritage land"...
The preservation, teaching and dissemination of the values of cultural heritage, the collection of artifacts, the conservation and restoration of relics are always focused on and promoted by the association. One of the most practical and effective activities in preserving, conserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage of the associations and branches is the establishment and organization of the maintenance of the activities of clubs, most of which are core members of the Cultural Heritage Association. Notable clubs include: Nhan Trach sea singing, Khuong Ha opera singing, Hai Phu folk singing and playing (Bo Trach); Le Xua Ho clubs, Le Thuy singing clubs (Le Thuy)...
It can be said that the activities of the clubs have shaped the direction, partly self-sufficient in funding, but more importantly, have created a spreading influence in the community of folk song lovers, preserving and promoting the value of the cultural heritage of folk songs and dances in Quang Binh . In particular, from within the clubs, young members have been taught, nurtured and developed, who are the core force in local and national competitions and performances.

Youth with the mission of maintaining cultural identity
Folk artist Hoang Viet Anh, member of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association of Minh Hoa district
Cultural heritage is formed and built up through a historical process, like layers of sediment that nourish the soul, spirit and spirit of the nation. However, cultural heritage is not easy to form, but is easily lost and always has the potential to disappear. Therefore, preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage is both an urgent and long-term task. It is a long journey, from one stage to another, from the previous generation to the next, and in that journey, the role and responsibility of the young generation is very important. Therefore, there must be mechanisms, policies and an environment to create for the young generation to better fulfill this noble mission.
In reality, many of us, especially the younger generation, are still very vague about cultural heritage. Not everyone understands that communal houses, temples, pagodas... are not just dry architectural works; festivals, folk performances... are not just rituals, games, arts..., but contain the intelligence and soul of the nation. And not all young people are interested in learning about these things. For that reason, in my opinion, cultural heritageeducation for the younger generation needs to be focused on and considered an urgent task, because we must understand, love, and cherish in order to make efforts to preserve, protect, and promote.
It is necessary to focus on bringing heritage education (HE) into schools, inspiring students to know the good, the beauty and the value of cultural heritage in modern life today. Heritage education work needs to be carried out in many forms: Integrating the teaching content of cultural heritage into appropriate subjects; organizing cultural-artistic, physical education and sports activities with themes related to cultural heritage; visiting cultural heritage sites; organizing the care of relics... Schools should establish folk culture clubs and regularly organize activities, invite folk artists to teach, organize folk song festivals in schools or between schools.
All levels and functional sectors need to coordinate in developing and issuing documents directing and guiding on GDDS, such as: Instructions on organizing learning at relics, scenic spots...; compiling documents to introduce cultural heritage in a complete manner; creating a website on heritage; training teachers and managers on GDDS...
Families, schools and the whole society have the responsibility to guide the young generation, suggest what to do and what not to do; arouse the passion for exploring and discovering the potential values of cultural heritage, thereby adding motivation for each young person to promote their role and responsibility, and contribute to the cause of preserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage...

Keeping folk songs alive
Meritorious Artist Le Thanh Loc, Head of Canh Duong Folk Song Club
In order for folk art forms and good cultural values not to lose their identity or fade away due to the process of exchange and integration of modern life, folk artists have made efforts to teach folk songs to the next generation, especially the young generation. In Canh Duong commune, this activity has been promoted through many practical activities such as building a Canh Duong folk song club model, bringing folk songs into schools, focusing on developing folk artists who are young people, people who are passionate about the traditional culture of their homeland.
After more than 7 years of establishment and operation, the Club has become a common home for people who love folk songs, ancient music, especially Canh Duong lullabies. Most of the members of the Club are between 30-50 years old. Since its establishment, the Club has built many impressive performance programs, winning valuable awards in both material and spiritual terms. The good news is that the Club has the participation of members in their teenage years (from 10-30%).
With the form of regular activities once a month, the Club always sets out the task of developing young members, encouraging members to collect and write new lyrics for folk songs. The Club also participates in folk song exchanges with clubs in the district, province and the Folk Song Club of the Cultural and Cinema Center (Department of Culture and Sports). Thereby, creating opportunities for members to learn and exchange experiences in innovating activities and performances, contributing to preserving and promoting the lullabies and folk songs of the homeland. The Club also proactively develops activity plans, coordinates with schools in the commune to guide and teach folk songs to students through extracurricular activities, helping students understand and receive the values of folk culture; at the same time, focuses on many activities to develop folk songs, equipping teaching skills for artisans...
In order for folk songs and the cultural quintessence of our homeland to be preserved forever, we hope that all levels, sectors and local authorities will pay more attention to building and creating conditions for folk song clubs to develop, focusing on bringing folk songs into schools at all levels. I think that is the most important solution for lullabies, Canh Duong folk songs in particular and other folk songs of each region to be preserved, maintained and become an indispensable part of people's daily life.
