Late in the afternoon, I sat in a cafe looking out at the roadside. There, a street vendor sat, his voice blaring from a loudspeaker: "Hairy clams, 30,000 dong a kilo!" I looked at the pile of clams, about 10kg. A long time passed, and no customers appeared. The vendor's appearance alone revealed his poverty. I thought to myself, even if he sold all the clams, he'd only make a little over 200,000 dong at most, not to mention his capital (if he bought them to resell).
There are so many hardships in the struggle for survival around us, creating so much pressure in life. This pressure causes many couples to lose their sweetness with each other as they did when they first got married; parents, though loving their children, sometimes unintentionally say hurtful things; and friends and colleagues drift apart because of life's pressures, leaving "nail marks" on each other – hurtful words.
So let's take a moment to "look down"! Let's stop complaining about life and blaming it when we are so much happier than so many others. Having good health is already a blessing, far better than countless others battling life-threatening illnesses. Waking up in the morning surrounded by loved ones is a blessing. Even being able to walk on our own two feet, to admire the beauty of the sunrise, the vibrant colors of a flower... let's silently thank life and our parents for giving us a complete body – a dream for so many deaf and disabled people...
Recognize how much happier you are than many others, so you can overcome difficulties, face pressure, and confidently conquer it. There's a saying often used when talking about pressure: "Pressure creates diamonds," implying that anything needs to be tempered under a certain amount of pressure to become its best version. Overcoming difficulties with courage, willpower, and determination, you will become the best version of yourself!
"It's not the pebbles on the road that hurt your feet, but the grains of sand in your shoes..." I like this quote and realize that when there are grains of sand in our shoes, we just need to bend down and throw them away ourselves so they're no longer bothersome. Take control of your life, in your own way.
