The corner of Ha Long - Truong Cong Dinh coastal street on the evening of March 19th resounded with bustling melodies, urging passersby to stop and enjoy. The Brothers Band's performance attracted nearly a hundred people. Many famous, cheerful and profound songs such as Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Everything I Do, Right Here Waiting For You, Sweet Child O' Mine, Baby One More Time, Lemon Tree, When The Children Cry, Find Again, It's Over... were performed by the group with all their heart. Responding to the artists' affection was a resounding round of applause from the audience. Knowing that the program had a humanitarian meaning, raising funds to help children in difficult mountainous areas, many audiences stayed to contribute to the "dream" box.
Ms. Hoang Trang, living in Vung Tau City, shared: “The show captivated listeners with famous songs that were once associated with the 7X and 8X generations. Listening to them again in such an open and intimate space really moved me.”
This year, “Sing for Dreams” restarts its third season with 12 episodes, promising to bring vibrant and emotional street music parties.
Singer Lan Anh, a member of Brothers Band, said she has been accompanying the program for three consecutive years. “I am happy to contribute my singing voice to such a meaningful activity. That is the reason why I always give my all in every performance,” she shared.
Mr. Hoang Huu Nguyen, who is in charge of content and program editing, said: “Each night, each band will perform throughout. Participating bands include Phu Huy Band, Street Crew, Brothers Band, Echotune Band, Vinh Ha Studio, Zeal Crew, Minako Band, Strings Band…”
“The artist community serves the people and tourists with good, vibrant music right on the streets, and hopes to receive voluntary support from the public. That contribution will be transferred to students in remote areas and ethnic minorities. After the first three performances of the new season, the program has received more than 12.5 million VND in support,” Mr. Nguyen added.
Entering its third year, “Singing for Dreams” has become a familiar music program for audiences in the coastal city. Over time, this music party has not only become a familiar meeting place for locals and tourists, but also an indispensable spiritual food every midweek night. This is also a useful playground for music groups to have the opportunity to experience, practice their stage skills, develop their talents and seek out talents through exchange activities and learn from each other.
With its proven appeal and prestige, the street music program has established a solid position in the hearts of Vung Tau audiences. The participating artists still maintain the same enthusiasm and passion as the first days.
While waiting for more attention and investment, especially from social activities, the program's organizers are still trying to maintain the quality of the shows. At the same time, they are expanding the audience and strengthening cooperation to better serve the public's need for music enjoyment.
