At 8:00 a.m. on July 16, Tran Huu Thinh used his mother's phone to look up his 2025 high school exam scores. When the results appeared, Thinh was overwhelmed with emotion when he saw that he had achieved 3 perfect scores of 10 in Math, Physics, and Chemistry.
“For me, this result exceeded my expectations. When I finished the exam, I calculated my score and predicted that I would get more than 28 points in 3 subjects, but I did not expect to get 10 points in all 3 subjects and become valedictorian,” Thinh said.
After calming down, Thinh reported the results to his mother and teachers, who Thinh said had a great impact on his learning process.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xen (Thinh's mother) said that Thinh is the youngest child, orphaned from a young age, Ms. Xen alone worked hard to raise Thinh's three brothers and send them to school, Thinh's education was almost entirely self-funded.
“Compared to his peers, Thinh was disadvantaged because his father died early. I worked alone to raise three children and did not have much time for them. Thinh was independent and mature, so I never had to worry about his studies. When he told me he got three 10s, I was happy and really proud of him,” said Ms. Xen.
Understanding his mother's hardships, Thinh always thought that he had to work hard and strive in every situation so that tomorrow's life could be better than today's. With that thought, Thinh always tried hard and studied hard to aim for a brighter future.
To get good study results, besides being diligent, Thinh shared that he also needs time for entertainment, both studying and playing, but needs to be arranged scientifically . In particular, he needs to create for himself a love for the subjects.
“Along with my own efforts and diligence, the teachers at school also have a great impact on my learning process. Especially the chemistry teacher. Besides being a teacher, he is also my friend, always confiding, sharing and guiding me in both studying and daily life,” Thinh shared.

Evaluating his student, Mr. Doan Van Tan, a Chemistry teacher for class 12A1 at Hung Nhan High School, affirmed that Thinh is an intelligent, obedient, active student and especially has extremely good thinking.
Thinh was always at the top of his school in all the aptitude and thinking tests. Thinh was willing to give his personal opinion to the teacher about a chemistry exercise that he thought was the optimal solution.
“When Thinh reported that he got 10 points in 3 subjects in block A00, I was really happy and thought that all of Thinh's efforts had been rewarded. I taught Thinh for 3 years in high school, and we had a close relationship. Besides being a teacher, I also encouraged Thinh a lot, so the student considered me a friend,” said Mr. Tan.
In a conversation with Mr. Tan, Thinh said that many of his friends pursue their dreams of working in information technology, while Thinh will study semiconductor microcircuits at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
“Thinh told me that when he chose this path, many people asked him why he got 30 points but did not choose the information technology major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. But please trust him, he will make the right choice. I will always believe that this student will succeed,” Mr. Tan shared.
