New information received from MICHELIN, expected on October 8, 2025, MICHELIN Guide will be proud to announce the list of MICHELIN Key standard hotels worldwide for the first time.
Following the success of launching the MICHELIN Key Awards in 15 leading travel destinations throughout 2024 and early 2025, this milestone marks the launch of a global rating system to select the best hotels around the world .

In addition to the MICHELIN Key, the MICHELIN Guide will introduce four brand new Special Awards, honoring excellence in specific areas of hotel service.
The Announcement Ceremony will be held online - via the MICHELIN Guide's social media and other digital media platforms - in conjunction with the Announcement Event held in Paris.
For the first time, travelers have the opportunity to experience seamless connectivity of MICHELIN Key hotels across booking platforms, making it easier for travelers to discover and book rooms at the world's best hotels.
List of hotels in the MICHELIN Guide and the MICHELIN Key system
In recent years, the MICHELIN Guide, which is famous worldwide for its restaurant listings and corresponding Star ratings, has compiled a global hotel selection list that includes more than 7,000 accommodations in more than 125 countries.
Similar to the iconic MICHELIN Stars system for the finest dining experiences, MICHELIN Key honors the most outstanding accommodations in the MICHELIN Guide hotel portfolio. Carefully evaluated by MICHELIN Guide assessors according to five globally consistent criteria, MICHELIN Key focuses on evaluating the overall experience at accommodations rather than simply evaluating hotel facilities, to establish a new, trusted international standard for excellent accommodation service.

After honoring more than 1,500 hotels through Key’s initial assessment criteria, the MICHELIN Guide is now preparing to go one step further with the introduction of its first-ever list of the best hotels with outstanding service globally, and the team of Assessors is currently finalizing the list.

Four New MICHELIN Guide Special Awards
In addition to the MICHELIN Key, the MICHELIN Guide will present four Special Awards, honoring properties that have achieved outstanding achievement and unique excellence in specific areas of the hospitality industry:
MICHELIN Awards for Architecture and Design: Honors hotels whose architecture and design inspire unforgettable journeys, and elevate the guest experience through a distinctive aesthetic identity.
MICHELIN Wellness Award: Honors properties that pioneer comprehensive wellness programs that nurture the body, mind and spirit.
MICHELIN Award for Local Identity: Honors hotels that help guests deeply connect with their surroundings, expressing local identity and spirit.
MICHELIN Award for New Hotel of the Year: The award is given to hotels that have recently opened and have had a significant impact on the hospitality industry in their first year of operation.
Each Grand Prize will be awarded to one property that meets the criteria. The winner will be announced at the Announcement Ceremony on 8 October 2025. Prior to this, the list of nominated hotels (five nominees for each award) will be announced on the MICHELIN Guide’s social media and digital platforms as follows:

MICHELIN Guide Hotel Awards Announcement Ceremony
The Announcement Ceremony will be held online - via the MICHELIN Guide's social media and other digital media platforms - in conjunction with the Announcement Event held in Paris on October 8, 2025.
The MICHELIN Guide Hotels Ceremony will take place at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, overlooking the Louvre Museum and Tuileries Gardens, offering a glimpse into timeless culture and unique design.
This unique event brings together a select group of hotels (represented by around 300 international hoteliers), award-winning hotels, leading media and influential figures in the hospitality industry.
The Announcement Ceremony will be an important and memorable event to celebrate the culture, uniqueness and know-how of hotels around the world.
