
On the afternoon of February 14th, the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council held a meeting to exchange experiences on the work of the People's Council with a delegation from the Vientiane Provincial People's Council (Laos).
The delegation of the Vientiane Provincial People's Council, led by Comrade Bun Sone Phet La Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vientiane Provincial People's Council (Laos), along with his wife and other leaders of the People's Council, its committees, and several departments and agencies of Vientiane province.

Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Hai Duong Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and other leaders of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council and its committees welcomed and held discussions with the delegation.

Delegates from the People's Councils of Hai Duong and Vientiane provinces held in-depth discussions and shared experiences regarding the operation of the People's Councils.
Representatives of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council shared experiences on innovation in supervision, questioning, and monitoring activities, selecting issues of public concern; organizing many specialized sessions and supervision workshops. At the same time, they issued many resolutions that are important policies to help remove bottlenecks, serving the economic and social development of the province, and promoting communication and dissemination to the people of the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Bun Sone Phet La Van, Chairman of the People's Council of Vientiane Province, expressed his pleasure at participating in the meeting and provided a general overview of the geographical location, socio-economic development of Vientiane Province, and the organizational structure and operation of the People's Councils at all levels.
The Vientiane Provincial People's Council currently has 9 subordinate units with an organizational structure similar to that of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council, including: a standing committee, a chairman, 2 vice-chairmen, and committees for Justice, National Defense and Security; Economy, Planning and Finance; Culture, Social Affairs and Ethnic Groups.

Comrade Bun Sone Phet La Van stated that the Vientiane Provincial People's Council fulfills its role, functions, and duties as prescribed by law, in the spirit of democratic centralism, close to the reality of the people and the grassroots, and in coordination with Party and State agencies and other relevant organizations.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Vientiane Province also informed about some outstanding results in the province's socio-economic development and thanked Hai Duong Province for its assistance, which has significantly contributed to the province's achievements in recent years; he expressed his hope that Hai Duong Province will continue to support and cooperate with the province.

Concluding the talks, Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council Le Van Hieu, on behalf of the Hai Duong Provincial leadership and the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council, thanked the delegation from the Vientiane Provincial People's Council for taking the time to participate in the talks and exchange experiences to improve the effectiveness of cooperation.

The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council shared experiences and innovations of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council, such as supervision through organizing seminars, in-depth questioning, attending citizen consultations, and interacting with voters alongside the heads of local Party committees and governments at the district level. Through these activities, the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council has received many opinions, suggestions, and feedback from voters and the public, clarifying responsibilities and recommending solutions to the competent authorities.
The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council expressed his hope that the experiences shared at the meeting would contribute to improving the effectiveness of the People's Councils of Hai Duong and Vientiane provinces, and further strengthen the Hai Duong - Vientiane relationship, fostering a warm, friendly, and comprehensive cooperative partnership.

Comrade Le Van Hieu extended an invitation to the current and former leaders and delegates of the Vientiane Provincial People's Council to continue exchange visits, exchanges, and working sessions in Hai Duong province.
Following the talks, the delegates visited a model of cage fish farming on the Thai Binh River.
