Hanoi and Vientiane contribute to deepening the special Vietnam-Laos relationship

On the eve of the ASEAN Capital Mayors Conference, on September 17, in Vientiane - the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and the high-ranking delegation of Hanoi paid a courtesy visit to Secretary of the Vientiane City Party Committee Anouphap Tounalom.

Congratulating the high-ranking delegation of Hanoi to attend the ASEAN Capital Mayors' Conference, Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee Anouphap Tounalom highly appreciated the efforts of the agencies of the two capitals in implementing the Hanoi - Vientiane Cooperation Agreement for the period 2022-2025; contributing to further strengthening the Hanoi - Vientiane cooperation relationship, contributing to deepening the special Vietnam - Laos relationship.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that over the past time, the friendly cooperation relationship between the two capitals of Hanoi and Vientiane has always been cared for and nurtured and constantly developed. Up to now, 9 specialized agencies of the two capitals have proactively signed a memorandum of cooperation in specialized fields to exchange, share experiences and support each other in professional activities.

At the same time, many cooperation programs and projects are implemented in the fields of: Economy , Education - Training, Culture, development support, contributing to promoting the development of the two capitals and contributing to the stability and common development of the Southeast Asia region.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee wished Vientiane to successfully organize the ASEAN Capital Mayors' Conference and the ASEAN Mayors' Forum 2024, contributing to the overall success of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in its year as ASEAN Chair.
