Tan Chau Town People's Council held the 24th thematic session

On the morning of April 22, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Tan Chau Town held the 24th Session (special session), the 7th term of the People's Council of the town. Attending the session were Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Huynh Huu Duc; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Chau Town Truong Hong Son and Member of the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Chau Town Ka Hong Phong co-chaired the session.

The delegates voted to pass the meeting resolution with 100% approval.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Chau Town Truong Hong Son delivered a closing speech at the meeting.

The meeting approved the draft Resolution on approving the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Tan Chau town and the draft Resolution on approving the policy of merging the entire area and population of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces to establish An Giang province.

Specifically, Tan Chau Town will establish 5 new communes and wards, including: Establishing Tan Chau Ward on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Long Thanh Ward and Long Son Ward, total area of ^17.39km2 , population of 33,506 people.

Establish Tan Chau Trung ward on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Long Phu ward, Long Hung ward and Long Chau ward, total area of ^19.21km2 , population of 46,826 people.

Establish Tan Chau Bac commune on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Tan An commune, Long An commune and Tan An commune, total area of ^40.61km2 , population of 41,922 people.

Establish Tan Chau Nam commune on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Phu Vinh commune, Le Chanh commune and Chau Phong commune, total area of ^49.28km2 , population of 56,322 people.

Establish Vinh Xuong commune on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Phu Loc commune, Vinh Hoa commune and Vinh Xuong commune, total area of ^50.21km2 , population of 41,369 people.

With the spirit of democracy and responsibility, the delegates of the Town People's Council voted and unanimously passed two resolutions approving the policy of rearranging Kien Giang and An Giang provinces and establishing commune-level administrative units in the area.
