The fire fighting water supply for the system is taken from a 700m3 tank . The water supply connection point is Thanh Ha Water Plant connected to the D160mm pipeline running along Nguyen Truong To Street.

139 monuments installed automatic fire alarm systems

According to Hoi An City, in the current phase, automatic fire alarm systems (address-based fire alarms) will be installed at 139 ancient relics; including 37 special relics, 70 type 1 relics, 20 type 2 relics, and 12 type 3 relics.

According to Mr. Son, the entire system will initially be assigned to the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center, while other units will join in coordinating the operation. The system will be operational by the end of 2025.

1,400 ancient relics in Hoi An will be safer

The Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee said that the 200 billion VND fire prevention and fighting project (invested by Hoi An City People's Committee) this time is the largest and most fundamental investment in protecting the ancient town space from fire to date.

Currently, Hoi An has about 1,400 ancient relics, 70% of which are privately owned. Most of the buildings are hundreds of years old, with wooden structures and rudimentary fire protection systems.

"We have been pursuing and promoting procedures for this project for 5 years and through many ministries and localities to be able to implement it.

"Because the merger is near, all work and documents must be completed before June 30, so recently the old town has been dug up everywhere, and visitors and residents have complained a lot. We are urging people to work day and night to restore the site soon," said Mr. Son.
