Providing wholehearted support to earthquake victims.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Türkiye and the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran (also covering Syria) quickly grasped the situation and, together with the interim executive committee of the Association of Vietnamese People in Türkiye, were ready to support the Vietnamese community.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, also sent a letter of encouragement and support.

Not only supporting each other, but with the tradition of mutual assistance and compassion, "the healthy leaf protects the withered leaf," our compatriots in many parts of the world have carried out numerous activities to support and reach out to the victims of the earthquake.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran, along with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Iran, donated to support the Syrian people affected by the disaster. On February 14th, Ambassador Luong Quoc Huy signed the condolence book and handed over the donated money to Mr. Daiyoub, the Syrian Ambassador to Iran.

Responding to a call from the Syrian Embassy in Russia, in just two days, long-time Vietnamese residents of Moscow organized a fundraising campaign to purchase instant food for children and adults, as well as essential goods, totaling approximately 500,000 rubles (7,000 USD).

A similar shipment was handed over to the Syrian Embassy in Russia on February 12th by Counselor Nguyen Tung Lam and representatives of the Vietnamese community.

Since February 6th, immediately after the devastating earthquakes, the Syrian Embassy in Russia has become a central hub for receiving aid, with many citizens and volunteers in Moscow coming to sort and pack the supplies before they are airlifted to victims in Syria.

In Bulgaria, through the Turkish Embassy in Sofia, Ambassador Do Hoang Long signed the condolence book and sent his deepest condolences to the government and people of Turkey.

Türkiye is a neighboring country to Bulgaria and also a place where a large part of the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria has had trade relations for several decades. Immediately after receiving the appeal from the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Turkish Embassy, the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Bulgaria proactively coordinated with other associations and organizations in the community to act as a central point for collecting donations of clothing and essential supplies.

Over four days (from February 7th to 11th), the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria collected 82 boxes of clothing, gloves, socks, hats, etc., worth approximately 20,000 leva (US$11,000). These goods were transported to earthquake-affected cities in Türkiye under the coordination of the International Red Cross.

In addition, several individuals and groups with business dealings with Turkish partners also directly donated cash and transported essential supplies to the victims through Turkish authorities. Notably, VT Travel Plus, owned by Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, President of the Association of Vietnamese People in Bulgaria and based in Istanbul, directly supported and coordinated relief efforts along with other organizations and individuals within the Vietnamese community in Türkiye.
