"Giving Wings" to the New Generation of Humanities
This is not only the first meeting of thousands of new students on a school-wide scale, but also a special mark marking the beginning of their journey of knowledge and youthful aspirations.
Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, Principal of the school emphasized: “Today’s festival is a commitment to accompany. The school will equip students with knowledge, skills and methodologies to confidently enter the labor market.”
What’s new this year is that the school surveyed 61% of new students before the start of the school year. The results showed some remarkable figures: 78% of new students were female, the proportion of male students increased compared to previous courses.

Students come from 31/34 provinces and cities, of which Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 30%; 90% of students want to develop themselves, 89% of students choose Humanities because of the quality of training and learning environment.
Students' biggest concerns are career opportunities after graduation, effective learning methods and student life.
The Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities believes that every new student entering the lecture hall needs to prepare two career mindsets in parallel: proactively choosing a career and being ready to accept when "the career chooses them".
According to Ms. Lan, to achieve this initiative, students must not only stop at studying the chosen major but also accumulate interdisciplinary knowledge, practice soft skills and develop problem-solving thinking.
She emphasized that today's generation of students has a more practical approach, always eager to assert themselves and concerned about knowledge related to future careers. Therefore, the school not only orients students according to their major but also creates conditions and encourages students to broaden their knowledge, improve their skills and adaptability to be ready for different career opportunities.

In the first year after graduation, nearly 89% of Humanities students found jobs, of which 75% were in or near their field of study. This figure, according to the female principal, is a clear demonstration of the school’s efforts to improve the quality of training and its support.
Journey of Aspiration
In the program, the speech of Nguyen Hieu Nhan - the new valedictorian of the entrance exam based on the competency assessment method left many emotions.
Originally from Gia Lai (formerly Binh Dinh), Nhan had no English background but self-studied and made persistent efforts to achieve IELTS 8.0 certificate twice.
For me, failure is not the end but the motivation to grow up every day. Therefore, I hope that when students face challenges, they will always be resilient, find ways to overcome them and never give up on their unfinished dreams.
Nguyen Hieu Nhan - valedictorian of the entrance exam of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

For Nhan, the valedictorian title is not a destination, but a reminder of striving, humility and perseverance.
This is the result of a long journey of effort, and also the motivation that urges Nhan to make more efforts in the future.

Another story that also spreads the spirit of "spreading wings" is that of Ly Truong Ngoc, a Nung ethnic, a new student majoring in Cultural Studies. Ngoc was born into a farming family in the mountainous area of Song Luy commune (formerly Binh Thuan province, now Lam Dong province).
Ngoc once dropped out of school for a year due to financial difficulties. But then, thanks to her determination and passion, she overcame this barrier and her parents' worries to come to Nhan Van.
Ngoc chose Cultural Studies with the desire to integrate national identity into art. "I was inspired by the way singer Phuong My Chi integrated culture into music. I want to study Cultural Studies to preserve tradition and at the same time create for the present," Ngoc said.
