TPO - From July 26, vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway when passing through the Phu Thu intersection construction site (old Ha Nam) will be able to go underground in the project. VIDEO of vehicles on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh highway passing through the Phu Thu intersection tunnel. After more than 3 years of construction, Phu Thu intersection connecting Ring Road 5 and roads in Ninh Binh province (formerly Ha Nam ) with the national highway has completed the expressway section passing through the intersection. Instead of traveling on the existing surface as before, from July 26, vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway, when passing through Phu Thu intersection, will travel in the basement of the intersection. This plan, according to the investor, the Ninh Binh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (formerly the Ha Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board), helps the highway avoid level crossings, causing traffic conflicts. The plan to go through the tunnel still ensures that vehicles on the highway travel at a speed of 100-120 km/h.
Furthermore, according to the investor, this plan also ensures that the future elevated road of Ring Road 5 will still follow the design plan when passing through Phu Thu intersection. On July 26, all vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway from Hanoi to Ninh Binh and vice versa were regulated and routed by the Traffic Police Department and the route management unit, the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), to flow smoothly through the tunnel, without having to take the bypass, detour and causing congestion like the previous days. The Traffic Police Department said that in the initial phase, to help drivers gradually get used to going through the tunnel, the speed limit when approaching the tunnel is set at 60 - 80 km/h. There are signs at both ends of the road leading down to the tunnel, drivers need to pay attention to avoid speeding.
On July 26, providing information about the construction status at Phu Thu intersection, the project investor representative said that the project has completed phase 1, putting the tunnel on the highway into operation; phase 2 of the project will complete the road system connecting to the locality, the parallel road to Ring Road 5 and the toll station at the intersection.
