Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway is the shortest road route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Cambodia through Moc Bai international border gate, serving the development of the Moc Bai - Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Mep - Thi Vai industrial chain associated with the Trans-Asia economic corridor.
At the same time, create conditions for the development of industrial parks and export processing zones along the route. The project is expected to start construction in 2025 and strive to basically complete in 2027. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh are focusing on preparing the next steps to implement the project.
On August 30, the Steering Committee for Compensation, Support and Resettlement of Ho Chi Minh City said that it had just requested the People's Committee of Cu Chi District and the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works (investor) on land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway construction investment project (phase 1).
This is an important turning point to help the project deploy faster, separate the project into site clearance components, and do some work in advance right after the investment policy is approved and before approving the feasibility project.
Perspective of Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai highway:
The project is about 51km long, the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 24.66km, the section through Tay Ninh province is 26.317km.
In which, the starting point connects with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (section through Cu Chi district), the end point intersects with National Highway 22 in Ben Cau district (towards Moc Bai border gate, Tay Ninh province).

Component 2 of this project invests in the construction of residential roads and highway overpasses, with state investment capital of VND 2,422 billion.
On August 2, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision approving the investment policy for the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway (phase 1) under the BOT contract form.
According to authorities, this project has a great advantage in that most of the land that needs to be cleared is agricultural land and rice fields.
The section through National Highway 22, 22B towards Tay Ninh has fewer houses than the Ho Chi Minh City side.
In addition, this highway has a section intersecting with Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 (connecting 4 southeastern provinces including Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Long An).
