Hanoi – Following the 0-3 defeat against Viettel , coach Nguyen Huy Hoang admitted that SLNA's performance this season has disappointed many fans.
Approximately 1,000 SLNA fans gathered in stand B of the Hang Day Stadium on the evening of June 1st to cheer on their team as they played away against Viettel. However, witnessing the disjointed play of the Nghe An team, they barely offered any support in the second half. Their dissatisfaction reached its peak when a few people lit flares in the 53rd minute, just seconds after Nham Manh Dung scored to make it 2-0 for Viettel. By the 56th minute, the match was effectively decided when Dang Van Hao sealed the 3-0 victory for the home team.
This defeat marks their second consecutive loss, causing SLNA to drop to 11th place with nine points, four points behind the top eight with three rounds remaining in the first phase.
"Honestly, the team's performance was very disappointing for the home fans," coach Huy Hoang said at the post-match press conference. "We promise to be more determined in the upcoming matches."

Against Viettel, SLNA's defense made numerous mistakes, leading to three goals conceded. Coach Huy Hoang said he was frustrated by the defensive errors, both individual and systemic. "My pressure right now is to figure out how to improve the defense," the 41-year-old coach said.
Many young players were given opportunities but failed to meet expectations. After conceding the third goal in the 56th minute, coach Huy Hoang successively substituted key players Pham Xuan Manh and Michael Olaha off the field, accepting defeat.

Both players had already received two yellow cards, and another would result in suspension, so coach Huy Hoang wanted to preserve his squad. "I substituted them to prepare for the important match against Ho Chi Minh City FC in round 11 at home," the SLNA head coach said.
The match between SLNA and Ho Chi Minh City FC will take place on June 6th at Vinh Stadium. Ho Chi Minh City FC is ranked 12th, just behind SLNA with two points less. SLNA aims for a victory to relieve pressure and create distance from the bottom three teams.
